growalot Posted December 5, 2012 Share Posted December 5, 2012 That there has been a sighting of boars in Cohocton NY?...was at the local garage last night and well that's as good as a hair dressers or dinner for gossip...lol. ...any ways that's the story a hunter had some run through and found sign I guess.... No, I haven't heard anything yet about them showing up there. Hopefully it is kind of like the mountain lion sightings .... lol. Maybe it's like my experience years ago when I was bowhunting down in PA. I looked down across a small valley and saw something huge and pink. Checking it out with binoculars, it turned out to be a pig. We stopped into the farmers and asked if he had seen a pig wandering around, and he said it was one of his that escaped and that we should have shot it. When I was a kid we had a pig escape (they're awfully good at it). Anyway, this kind of thing may be the actual origins of some of these sightings. growalot Posted December 5, 2012 Author Share Posted December 5, 2012 When my grandfather passed I had a cousin that needed to drive through Groveland to get to the funeral home...there use to be a hog farm there...one of the breeding boars escaped and she hit it dead on.....totaled the car...she ended up in the hospital for a week and the hog...actually had to be put down it was well over 400#'s Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
