growalot
Well I got out this a.m. and I'm telling you....... This vary loud crunch crunch crunching going in is driving me mad!!! and it's not any better when I hit the woods in the afternoon...even when temps rise the ice crystals are still in the ground and under the moss and leafs... Any how I dropped a doe in heat drag and headed to the stand...20yrds out I steady my bow between my knees and get out the scent and wicks...standing there soaking them I hear crunch crunch crunch and it's headed right to me.... With my last predawn encounter while fiddling with scent ..I screw on the top ...grab my bow and start trotting to my stand dropping wicks on the ground as I run....hit the ladder and I can hear the deer pace pick up...but the stand starts to creak because the wind picks up...I get in the stand and just as I nock an arrow to sit...the deer turns and trots away...crap!..by 9:30 my feet were freezing so I crunched crunched crunched my way back home ...Where the He!! is the snow!! landtracdeerhunter
Doesn't look to good right through the weekend for snow. Got the makings of last year written all over again. Actually, December temps are running warmer this year then last, here. Makes for an interesting walk in. Evenings have been more successful lately. growalot
I never see any thing in the afternoon ...and the mornings I spook every thing off the property...no win situation...It snowed this a.m. but not enough to dampen any sounds...they are not hitting the food until well after dark...what little is left that is
