crappyice
When are excess doe tags available? I thought it was Nov 1-someone recently told me that in areas that are "giving them away-3s in my case" they are available after October 1. jjb4900
Additional Opportunities for Acquiring DMPs Leftover DMPsIf there are permits remaining after the initial application period ends (October 1), an extended application period for leftover DMPs will begin on or around November 1 each year. Applications for leftover DMPs can only be made in person at license sales agents (most town clerk's offices, sporting good stores, or DEC offices). Bonus DMPs in WMUs (1C, 3S, 4J and 8C)Hunters who fill a DMP tag by harvesting an antlerless deer can apply for an additional (bonus) DMP to harvest another deer of either sex. Bonus DMPs that are used to take an antlerless deer may be replaced with another Bonus DMP.

waterweasle
they will be giving out more antlerless tags for 3s, you don't need to bring the head to a check station either, photocopy the filled out tag, send it to the DEC and they'll mail you a replacement antlerless tag...............atleast that's what the DEC said when we called em today
crappyice
I ask because I am in a westchester management program and need to harvest a doe first. Last year the program supplied dmp's to be used on the lands in the program. As a result, I applied for my doe tags in other areas I normally hunt. It turns out that tags may not be available. If that is the case, I won't be ale to start hunting there until westchester releases more dmp's. kind of sucks since I need to give 15 days(or harvest a doe) but I can't even start until November a this point
shawnhu
Tough situation. You may have to apply for a 3S early on to satisfy the 15 days. My buddy an I got into Angle Fly this year, requirements are not as strict as the Westchester County Parks one.
crappyice
Am I able to re-apply early? I thought I had to wait to nov? The guy at west often talks about angle fly-where do you ave access?
shawnhu
No, you cannot get any left over tags until after Nov 1. If you are to shoot a doe, you'll need to use your bow tags or your regular season tag. Angle Fly has two parts, DEP and non DEP. I just gained access to the non DEP side, so now I can hunt the entire property.
