Island Dragway

Anyone ever go to Island Dragway in NJ? I guess it's the same people that used to be on LI. I'm thinking about going down today. They have a some bracket racing and a Mustang club that is running cars too. I really should be out it the woods.

Back in the day I used to go to the one on the island. Loved that place. Now its a nightmare to get to a track if you are on the island.

We used to run our cars in south Hampton when they had that track open. They closed it because home were built near by and they complained. That track was there forever.. Then LI lost alot of money and all the race money went out of state, we started to run the cars at raceway park in NJ. To bad LI couldn't get a track here, I've been to many rallies over the year to get one but it never happened. Would have been a big money maker for the island but tomany people against it.

Never realized how spoiled I am, we have Lebanon Valley just 20 min away. Some day I'll run the bike, maybe before I sell it.

i remember 14s were pretty quick back in the day lol

 

in 200 some of us were running 12s but now cars are coming from the factory running 11s. i never tracked my Supra but if i hooked and had a C/C clutch she would have went mid 10s. tuned making 800rwhp i would have been low 10s. 

 

i want another car so bad... i would love a GTR, those cars are insane. my buddies makes 1200 awhp and ran low 9s

Stock WRX. Hey I had a kids booster seat and the wifes pocket book with me. Plus we all drove home in it!

There were a bunch of gypsies there. They were all racing brand new trucks and 1 gt500. Every one had a dealer sticker still in the window.
