"activating" scent block clothes

Ok so i have bone collector scent blocker clothes.  Im confused.  After i was them with scent free detergent. i am suppose to put them in the dryer to activate the scent block?

 

I usually wash them in scent free then just leave them outside to dry for the week, throw them in my scent lock bag then in the car the morning i leave to hunt. 

 

Should i be putting them in the dryer?

Directions say t dr them to activate the charcoal- that's what i always do. PITA part is de-stinking the dryer from my wife's fabric softeners

Any tips for me on how to do that with both washer and dryer ?

Baking soda . I dump 1/4 cup in the dryer with a scent free dryer sheet.

I wash some regular bath towels with scent free soap and dry them with the dryer sheets...seem to stuck up the last of the flowery scents
