WNYBuckHunter
i know how to still hunt. But to your point, if you do pass on a yearling, your neighbor might not. There goes next year's 8. But if you dont pass on a yearling, its guaranteed that it wont make it.

While it's hard to grow big bucks on smaller pieces of land, if you own bedding area and you're bumping yearlings to the neighbors, you're not helping yourself. I'm not anti-still hunting. i was just pointing out a possible negative associated with it.
BizCT
I'm still at the point where shooting any buck is a trophy. I only have 6 of them. I did get to the point of passing smaller bucks early in the gun season, but towards the end I have no problem shooting a smaller buck.
