If you move to a new county,  do you have to update your permit or something like that?

to transfer your pistol permit to another county, first check with the  new county for any restrictions they may have, then go to the County Clerk’s Office requesting your file be  transferred to the new county of residence.  That should get you pointed in the right direction

I have a friend that was moving from Madison County to Oneida County and he checked with Dan Sullivan at the Oneida County Pistol Licensing Office because he had the same question. 

He was told that:

1) You must change your address with the County that holds the file.

2) It is not required to move the file to the new county.

3) If you do not move the file, amendments must be done @ the original county office.

4) If you do move the file you will have to pay a fee and you may have restrictions placed on your permit @ the discretion of the licensing officer/judge.
