DEC authority

A year or two ago I stumbled onto an official DEC website that said very very clearly they do not have authority to enter private posted land. I sent the link to my hunting buddy who did not believe me. After he read it he agreed with me. I still have a hard time believing this. Now I can no longer find the link. I think the paragraph that stated this has been removed. Did anyone else see this or know where this link is/was?

If you are speaking about ECO's, they do and can enter private land. Just like any other police officer. With probable cause. There is a lower threshold I believe, if active hunting is going on on a property, but don't quote me on that.
