Bow tags during reg season

Im a junior hunter and i read that i can use my bow in gun season. Can i use my bow tag during the regular season also?

Only in westchester county /wmu 3s . It's bow only and u can use reg tag or bow tag .

A: No. Bow/Muzzleloading tags are only valid during the special bowhunting and muzzleloading seasons depending on which privileges you purchased. Bow/Muzzleloading tags are not valid during the Regular Seasons, except in Westchester and Suffolk Counties or by junior archers hunting with a bow during the regular seasons.

I am not sure all of 4J is bow only, just the Preserve. I might be wrong on that, but I am pretty sure you can use a firearm during the regular season in that area on private land.

Where i am in 4j its bow only. im 15 so in that last part dosent it state i can use the bow tag during reg season?

4J is in Albany and Scenectady counties. Not Suffolk or Westchester. So it's still no.

All the county lines, WMU areas can get very confusing for a new hunter. You just have to make sure you read a lot from the DEC site.

That's a good point. I forgot you are a Jr. Hunter. Sorry about that. Searching the DEC site now for an answer to that.

Myself and anyone who said no, owe you a very humble appology Izayah. You can indeed use your bow as a Jr. Bowhunter.

 

Junior Bowhunters may use the Bow/Mz Either Sex tag during the Bowhunting and Regular Seasons.
