landtracdeerhunter
By volume, how much loose powder equals one 50 grain pellet? Thank you in advance.
landtracdeerhunter
From the information gathered online, a 50 grain pellet weighs 32 grains by weight. It can vary by 2 to 4 grains depending on how many chips the pellet has in it. So 32 gains of loose powder is equal to a 50 grain pellet ? How does a person find the difference by volume? Does a 50 grain pellet equal 50 grains of loose powder, by volume? Edited December 2, 2014 by landtracdeerhunter
WingNut
Not all pellets are created equal! Meaning they will all weigh differently. Some may be around 80% less in wieght compared to lose powder. Also, check each pellet MFG but I believe most already list them as volumetric equivalents. Just double check this is only my 2 cents. ididnotvoteforobama
I would shoot them both in what ever ratio, volume, weight you come up with, to be sure they perform the same. Adjusting the loose powder up or down to dial it in.
