G-Man
Big Bear for sure. I last week saw my first bear while on stand. I always said I wouldn't shoot one. Now that I saw one, I would definitely shoot. However, few questions: How to get out of woods? Do you take to a processor, eat all the meat? Take it to taxidermist and get what done; full mount is probably ridiculously expensive, rug, etc. Guys that have some insight or experiences let me know what you did. Thanks! Full mount will be 2500 plus for that size bear, I used 5 guys and a tractor to get mine out . Definitely use gloves to gut as they are full of worms, a deer processor can cut a bear, if lots of roundworms,I would be hesitant about the meat as it must be cooked fully to kill the eggs in the meat. Bear is good but I go by how many worms I see before I decide to get cut up.
The_Real_TCIII
The bears Ive killed in Canada went to families in the area and that was just fine by me, they were loaded with worms. If you can manage it, skin out the back feet and then hang him by them from to separate ropes. Then "tube" him, skin him out like your taking his shirt off. That way you dont have a long cut up the front or back and can make any decision you want as far as mount vs rug. This sounds a heck of a lot easier than it is, I had an expert doing it with me
