Maple hill state Forrest

Anyone ever hunted at maple hill in chemung. I have been up there a few times personally. Last deer season spent 2 days up there and saw no trace of a deer. But has anyone ever been up there for small game? Or do you have any idea where the deer hide. Years ago I knew the guy who owned the land that bordered and there was always deer on his land.

I have fished the small ponds down there.  Caught a couple small bullhead.  Never saw any trace of deer while there but saw a metric ass-ton of groundhog's around the ponds.

Never hunted there, but there is definitely some nice deer over that way.
