Guests: Dave King, T.Sloat, Jim Southall, Dave Knapp, Catherine Gliber, Shany Arneth, Dean L Kern of Genesee Fish and Game protective Association at Godfrey’s Pond. Meeting called to order by President Larry Allen at 7:30 PM. · Motion to accept the October 2010 minutes as distributed made by Gil McBroom (Bergen Rod & Gun Club Inc) and second by Chris Lamb (S.C.O.P.E. – Genesee Co.). Motion carried. Treasurers report by Angelo Steffenella. Oct 31 to Nov 30, 2010. Respectfully submitted for audit by Angelo Steffenella. · Motion to accept the treasurers report for audit by Gil McBroom (Bergen Rod & Gun Club Inc) and second by Jody Ferrara (NY Bowhunters Inc) Motion carried. Correspondence: NYSCC Grass roots news. Old Business: Dennis Schrieber who won the 30/06 rifle has notified us that he is donating it back to the Genesee County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs to use for another raffle. New Business: The guests from the Genesee Fish and Game Protective Association at Godfrey’s Pond. Discussed holding a National Hunting and Fishing Day Celebration at Godfrey’s pond and is looking for the Federation and its member clubs support. This is something they have done in the past at Godfrey’s Pond. The group knows that the Livingston County Federation has been having trouble with the NYS DEC in holding it at the Region 8 Headquarters. The group is looking to offer the Godfrey pond site to a joint Genesee County and Livingston County Event. The talk was about what is needed to make the event successful. Dave Knapp of the Genesee Fish and Game Protective Association volunteered to Chair this event. · Motion was made by Lou Lang (Batavia Rod & Gun Club Inc.) to have our secretary supply Dave Knapp with our Federation contact information. Motion was second by Chris Lamb (S.C.O.P.E. – Genesee Co.). Motion carried. Additional discussion occurred about the conservation club and its charter to bring conservation to the forefront with the public. Paul Wood has entered the Genesee County Nursing home. Our best wishes to him and his family. RENHIA Region 8 North Hunter Instructor Association. Glen informed the group that this is an organization of volunteer Hunter Instructors putting on an annual banquet for Hunter Instructors as well as recently putting on a Youth Pheasant hunt at the John White wildlife management area. Motion to adjourn the meeting made by Lou Lang (Batavia Rod & Gun Club Inc.) and second by Jody Ferrara (NY Bowhunters Inc). No meeting in December Next Meeting, January 25 @ 7:30PM Godfrey’s Pond February 22 @ 7:30PM Godfrey’s Pond March 29 @ 7:00PM Godfrey’s Pond annual game sampler pot luck dinner. Additional news, which I (Glen Adams), forgot to bring up at our meeting. Marc Osypian President of the Livingston County Federation of Sportsmen Clubs has volunteered to represent Region 8 on CFAB (Conservation Fund Advisory Board) this requires a NYS Senate appointment. The Finger Lakes Conservation Council unanimously recommends that the region 8 county get behind and support Marc Osypian as our representative. Please have your club send a letter to your NY Senator in support of Marc Osypian. At the End of this month Charlie Hancock our current representative completes his term and is stepping down.
