Old Business:

Dennis Schrieber who won the  30/06 rifle has notified us that he is donating it back to the Genesee County  Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs to use for another raffle.

New Business:

The guests from the Genesee  Fish and Game Protective Association at Godfrey’s Pond.  Discussed holding a National Hunting and  Fishing Day Celebration at Godfrey’s pond and is looking for the Federation and  its member clubs support.  This is  something they have done in the past at Godfrey’s Pond.  The group knows that the Livingston County  Federation has been having trouble with the NYS DEC in holding it at the Region  8 Headquarters.  The group is looking to  offer the Godfrey pond site to a joint Genesee County and Livingston County  Event.  The talk was about what is  needed to make the event successful.  Dave Knapp of the Genesee Fish and Game Protective Association  volunteered to Chair this event.

·        Motion was made by Lou Lang (Batavia Rod & Gun  Club Inc.) to have our secretary supply Dave Knapp with our Federation contact  information. Motion was second by Chris Lamb (S.C.O.P.E. – Genesee  Co.). Motion carried.

Additional discussion  occurred about the conservation club and its charter to bring conservation to  the forefront with the public.

Paul Wood has entered the  Genesee County Nursing home.  Our best  wishes to him and his family.

RENHIA Region 8 North Hunter  Instructor Association.  Glen  informed the group that this is an  organization of volunteer Hunter Instructors putting on an annual banquet for  Hunter Instructors as well as recently putting on a Youth Pheasant hunt at the  John White wildlife management area.

Motion to adjourn the meeting  made by Lou Lang (Batavia Rod & Gun  Club Inc.) and second by Jody Ferrara (NY Bowhunters Inc).

No meeting in December

Next Meeting, January 25 @ 7:30PM Godfrey’s Pond

February 22 @ 7:30PM Godfrey’s Pond

March 29 @ 7:00PM Godfrey’s Pond  annual game sampler pot luck dinner.

Additional news, which I  (Glen Adams), forgot to bring up at our meeting. Marc Osypian President of the  Livingston County Federation of Sportsmen Clubs has volunteered to represent  Region 8 on CFAB (Conservation Fund Advisory Board) this requires a NYS Senate  appointment.  The Finger Lakes  Conservation Council unanimously recommends that the region 8 county get behind  and support Marc Osypian as our representative.  Please have your club send a letter to your NY Senator in support  of Marc Osypian.

At  the End of this month Charlie Hancock our current representative completes his  term and is stepping down. Charlie has been very selfless in his service to us  or region 8 as our rep.
