hehehehe...Typical...Once a critter leaves the ground, it no longer EXISTS as far the beagle is concerned..

Years ago when there was a fair wild population  around here, guys often hunted pheasants with beagles..Some beagles liked to run them and some could not care less...I had a beagle  named George who was dumb as a box of rocks, but when he got on a pheasant  he acted differently than when he was on a rabbit..He even barked differently...If you could keep up with him, you could get a shot the bird when he flushed. I shot my first cockbird ahead of him  down behind the barn on the family farm, back when Moby Dick was a minnow.
