growalot
This is actually where we want to put the pond...right now it is a wet season pond...spring and fall rains ...all winter iced over...springs like this we usually get mallards for a little while...good frog pond if the rains happen a few times a week...Deer and great for morning turkey... TACC
Looks like a great spot for some wood duck nesting boxesSent from my SM-G900T3 using Tapatalk
growalot
It doesn't always get this high nor last long enough...otherwise I would...but we do get Woodstock that come in and nest in that area. It use to last nearly half the summer, but we had a test hole dug ..it has 2-3 ft of grey clay in it but the hole opened it up, so now it drains faster. If I can only get Mr. B to truck his sized out to get it inspected and worked on...He refuses to use it until that's done.. he just starts it and moves it periodically..2 years now...Love him but he has some quirks
thphtm
Looks like my little pond Gro. the only problem is with all of the trees around it , It's full of leaves from last fall.
growalot
I have been slowly cutting trees in and around it...leaving timber grade for when we decide to actually get in there and do this...It is actually the head of a Y that starts the gully. The other branch gets the main flow from the neighbors land forming a seasonal creek and this takes the flow from ours...The stand in the back ground is a ridge stand that looks down the hill to the lower section of our place...you can see forever from that stand...But the winter winds are God awful in it. It does a good job most years of funneling deer/ turkey to the area. It is a favorite buck travel zone.
