New York Hillbilly
I'm not sure how well the the swap DMP situation works out, but it got me to thinking. As I sit here in Webster at my daughters house, I am enjoying immensely the time with my almost 1 year old grandson, but am also longing to get in the woods and hunt deer. My property is some of the best deer hunting around, but is 2 1/2 hours away in 7M. I spent the first 5 days of this season there, but was missing the family I traveled back from Alaska to be with, so I stopped hunting and came back to Webster. Now in between playing with the baby, I am reading about everyone else chasing deer, enjoying their pictures and stories, and am getting anxious to get out there. So my question is: Although probably to late for this season, how well do you think a Swap Hunt arrangement might work out next season. For example, if I allowed someone to hunt for a few days on my property in 7M, or took them there, for the same opportunity out here towards Webster? I seem to remember many years ago, people doing a Swap Hunt arrangement in some hunting organization, can't remember the name, maybe "North American Hunter?" I didn't even put in for landowner permit this year, because it was too late, and ended up getting selected for a couple permits out this way, one in Wheatland, and the other close by too. Thoughts?
