Anyone plant on hillsides? Good/bad idea?

It does sound a little unusual. But what kind of hillside are you talking about? Slight or steep grade? I would be worried about runoff from a storm. Can you get a tiller there etc? Oh yeah and is this out in the open or more or less in the woods for sun exposure? Pic would help.

What kinda grass / wheat is that mixed w/the clover?

That is a commercial seed called Sucra Seed...it is a high sugar rye and orchard grass with avondale? clovers...this particular batch is called Beef Bank and I had specific reasons for going with it but they sell wild life seed as well call Sweet spot  http://www.sucraseed.com

New York is notorious for logging. If your hunting any wood lots that get logged, then as soon as they are all done hit the roads with your seed. Get something that does not require too much if any pre-ground prep. Those logging roads will eventually grow over with weeds and blackberry thorns. So why not make them into food plots.
