Another plot with the new tractor

Recommended Posts

Wasnt planning on any plots this year, but 2 weeks prior i had downed some pines and brush adjascent to an existing clover plot.  The entire area was a high spot and not level with the clover plot and was overrun with weeds and blackberry bushes. This weekend i figured i stretch the legs on the new Massey and give it a workout. Had to take out a pine tree stump, move alot of downed branches, remove quite a bit of rocks  and make the area level with my existing plot  for ease of mowing next spring (you can see in  the pic. the dirt area is the new plot and green is the existing clover plot and where they both  meet was about a 6 -8" grade difference. Now its like one flowing huge plot. Came back next morning, added fertilizer and put down wheat, oats, clover and brassicas. Now its just up to the rain. Once again pic is sideways.

Nice new tractor.  R4's make a great make shift cultipacker.

Don't go too nuts with plot size.  Deer love brushy edges.  Keeps them motivated to come in earlier, instead of sitting on the edge debating till dark to go out or not...
