Of course they did , burning forest to create farming space than abandoning it and doing it  in a new area,  heck build miles of fence to drive animal to where they were more easily killed..

Only our ignorance make them.primative. a ivory articulated doll / puppet was just found in Czechoslovakia 26,000 years old .. not to primitive to come up with a way tonarticulte a doll or carve it out of ivory..

We don't make them primitive, since primitive means belonging to a society in which people live in a very simple way, usually without industries or a writing system.  That didn't prevent some of them from developing a high level of sophistication.
