ATV Maintenance - Changed the oil, front / rear diff and plugs

Recommended Posts

Changed the oil, front / rear diff and plugs on Saturday.  I bought this ATV used, even though it only had about 160 miles on the clock I wanted to change it while I still had it at the house.  I noticed a lot of guys never have or rarely do change the oil / diff on their machines.  Its a good idea to keep up on those things because these machines as you know are quite expensive.  I rather take the time and the few bucks to do the small things so it lasts for a long time.  I noticed the plugs were pretty dirty as well, prob from bad gas / old gas and a combo of me using some carb cleaner.

Anyways just posting this as reminder to everyone.

Good Idea John. Even though my quad is 10 years old and has only 700 miles on it, irregardless of my use each year I change the oil every year. This year I used a heavier oil that I had left over from my tractor service and is an oil I will always use in the future as I was told it is much better quality for heavy use.Even though I have low miles those are some tuff 700 miles of hauling tons of wood, deer, equipment etc.....Take care of the ATV and it will take care of you...lol..
