growalot
So...due to the fencing going up I have a whole new area to play with....I believe I'm going to try a small section in Sun Hemp....It is suppose to be great for not so good soil and high in protiens and deer like it...even if deer don't I really need to build this soil up and suppress weeds as well ....it is a very fast grower...in average soil suppose to get to 6ft in 60days and can be cut back to 10-12 inches and regrow.......nothing ventured ...nothing gained...we'll see.... landtracdeerhunter
Planted switchgrass next to the corn a couple years, grew to 5' tall. The deer ate it when young, and liked the cover. Stood rather well. Looks to have inproved the soil adding organic matter. Sun hemp looks like a better choice.
