hb270deermanager
Just a heads up if the mild season continues spread your lime and start turning over the ground. lime works 3 to 6 months after being spread.Great for new plots. So if you spread lime now in june through august when your plots are most attractive the lime is working at its most effective.Remember your plots must produce their highest protein levels from early may til late august to maximize antler growth, doe lactasion, and pverall herd health. Then plant a fall seasonal plot or 2 to keep the herd around into late bow and rifle season. Fantail
I did a run up to camp, well there was 1/2' on the ground. Not like at home with a dusting. Still spread lime over the snow on two plots & where I'd like to expand a little. Broke the had spreader so the last 1/2 bag was by hand. Lots of fun.I think most of it should get into the ground without run off.
NYBowhunter
Also good time to frost seed those thinning perennial plots. Going up this weekend to prune some apple trees and frost seed my clover plots.
