“Uncle Tim” trends in Twitter- Double Standard?

Recommended Posts

Woke up this am and, as always, scanned the headlines on my phones news feed - what I saw made my jaw drop. Apparently , many liberals took to Twitter After the rebuttal speech made by Senator Tim Scott ( R) SC . Scott, a conservative and the only African American in the Senate , was pilloried for his criticism of Biden’s proposals outlined in his address; in their tweets , many of them referred to Scott as “ Uncle Tim” . I was Totally mortified - how could Twitter allow the use of a clear and blatant racially charged epithet to be used - on its platform- in reference to a black man?! Outrageous the double standard that is blatant and obvious to anyone who is objective . This is allowed whereas Conservative users are reprimanded , some even removed from the platform for violating their policies against using racially charged language ? In my view , ALL Americans , regardless of political ideology should be outraged and deeply troubled by the blatant bias Evidenced here ; more importantly , however , in how Senator Scott is being treated by those   who purport to be against racism and constantly accuse the right of being racist . Really ? I guess he’s not black enough or something ? Wow!!
Last week, a member on here posted a meme that was mildly racist - I think that, in retrospect , it was harmless and he just meant it to be funny , but nevertheless , a number of us called him out on it. And This is how it should be . Let’s see if our liberal brethren are equally outraged by clear and blatant bias Evident here .
