  1. Thanks, hoping to run into either of them soon.
  2. a few new 8 pointers showing up.... im thinking 3 1/2 possibly 4 1/2?
  3. I'm all for taking out predators on sight, but starvation and sickness is a not a way to go.
  4. Look at what i started.. I planted for all animals of course, I was just hoping to have somethign left to "bring them in on Oct 15" Maybe i will teach the critters to read!
  5. I checked my plot last week, what looked like a lush salad bar about a month ago has been stripped of all brassica tops and most of the chicory, leaving just the clover. There are still turnips in the ground so it isn’t a total loss. Just hope there is still enough to draw. I have been noticing more and more raccoons and porcupines in the food plot as well, I’m assuming they aren’t helping my cause. How devistating can a few porcupines be? I know the coons have to go, I guess ill have to wait until after the season.
  6. I can only hope that the guys i let go, make it through to next year. Some have to make it, and get another year on their bodies and heads. I also leave about 10-15 acres of thick sanctuary.. That has to help if even a little.
  7. Yea, I wish my neighbors would get on board with trying to age deer. I have been passing a lot of deer the last few years. I know it will pay off but it would be that much better if everyone would do the same. I always get the same answer, if i dont shoot it someone else will. Bad attitude, i guess thats what happend when a lot of ny's hunters only do it for a week a year and look to kill on sight.
  8. This is who is running around right now.. There is a few 8's not much age though.
  9. I tried putting a few bars of soap around my hunting plot.... hasn't helped in the slightest.
  10. G-man, any chance you have any pictures? and where was the auction?
  11. well when you put it like that.......
  12. Interesting... i'll keep my eyes peeled for one. about how much do they go for, any idea?
  13. If i remember correctly, code blue is taken from one specific deer and bottled. Code red is a blend.
  14. I saw that same commercial about two weeks ago, i didnt write it down either. I didn't know i would be needing one.
  15. Can anyone help me out? Has anyone ever had a prefab bridge installed or know where I can get one? This last rain storm completely erased the 4' pipe from existence.
  16. If anyone is looking for a bow shop in the NYC area I highly recommend heritage guild in Branchburg NJ. To start they carry anything you could want, and if it isn’t in stock they will get it for you. Very kind people, extremely insightful and helpful. They have a 10 yard archery “lab” upstairs, a future 40 yard rang out back, and a future 30 station 3d course. I could not be more pleased how my buddy and I were treated. In my opinion they are second to none! It is worth the trip if it is a little far from you. I damaged my fuse quiver and the gentlemen, with no questions asked replaced it for me. My buddy had his bow set up a place in queens and it was not done properly. The guys at herritage took the time to show us and properly set it up. They are the real deal.
  17. It definitely works, I have doene this before. You will be amaze how dirty the old wax that comes off is.
  18. I like to avoid the temptation and stay away for 2-3 weeks at the least. I did come across a new product the guys at wild game innovations came out with. It is a wifi module that works with compatible cams that allows you to retrieve your photos and vid clips from up to 300' away. A good way to check cameras with out "contaminating" your hunting area. http://www.wildgameinnovations.com/products/yn1.html I have no personal experience with this but like the idea.
  19. Not at all, it is just over 1/8th of an acre.
  20. Thanks CF, I planted evolved harvest rackforce, and threw in some turnips and carrots. I also spread some throw n gro around the edges a few weeks ago. The rackforce consists of clover chicory and alfalfa. The alfalfa didn’t take I will be frost seeding in the spring now that my ph is up and should be around 6.8 by then.
  21. Always a good sign to see a variety of wildlife in your food plots. It's nice to know all creatures can benefit from a plot.
  22. Nice pic's. I have seen quite a few bucks running around but not with brows like that!
  23. I have noticed the same, tons of deer.. i was at wolfes pond park and saw some deer in the woods, also saw a few in richmond town as well. the population is booming. As for a hunt i highly doubt it would happen. too many tree huggers and "animal lovers" wgo dont understand over population damage and conservation concepts. any trail pics you can post?
