Daisy VL-A Firearm, Or Not A Firearm?
13BVET replied to 13BVET's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Elmo, I don't know. I do know, that they were only made for a very limited time, and that only 4000 of my model were made. Outside of that, I honestly don't know their collectability. -
Another thing, is that pcp's (pre charged pneumatics), can gain more power, by just putting a heavier hammer spring in it. You'll lose shot count, but you'll certainly gain more power.

I've noticed a lot of questions on this topic, and that's understandable. Let's start with the ones pertaining to the noise levels of big bore airguns. In some places, (I'll use Southwestern Dutchess as an example), the development has been so overwhelming, that noise is a huge factor. We've had a lot of people move up from down below, who panic every time a shotgun is discharged. I've had the police called on me, on numerous occasions, although I was over 500' away at those times. I would drag a deer out of the woods where I used to hunt, just to have the police waiting for me. It is not unusual to have that happen to you here. It gets to the point as to where you become leery about taking a shot. Less noise would eliminate that headache. Power levels seem to be another thing that is being questioned. The fact of the matter is, that the commercially made big bores are the lower end of the spectrum, when it comes to power. There custom airgun makers, who will build you one with much more power, if you're willing to spend the money. Yes, they're very expensive, if you're willing to pay for them.

While I can see your point, I've had deer still travel with a slug right through the vitals, especially bucks, during the rut.

Dead nuts accurate, and smooth as hell. The draw weight is just too much for me these days, since I have a screwed up spine. Besides, I won a brand new crossbow from Parker!

Never really thought about that. -
That's true. I would imagine they'd have something big enough.

I'll post a pic in a few minutes. -
It's in beautiful shape. No handling marks at all. I don't think it's ever been used.

Daisy VL-A Firearm, Or Not A Firearm?
13BVET replied to 13BVET's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Actually, Collector Rifle & Ammo carries the ammo, thankfully. -
3.65 lb. weight (very light), 32" axle to axle, 60-70 lb. draw weight, currently set on 29" draw. Actually, a nice bow. Asking $175/BO. Would prefer somebody local that might be interested, as I wouldn't know how to ship it, since I don't have anything big enough. 845-765-0225. Or email me. [email protected].

Daisy VL-A Firearm, Or Not A Firearm?

Thanks, Elmo. I do know that there weren't really a lot of them made. I've got the presentation one, of which about 4000 were made. Need to take it out, and shoot it. -
Oops! Didn't realize this was already posted. Can this thread be removed?

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts would be on this. I know, that down here, it might be a good option. http://content.govdelivery.com/accounts/NYSDEC/bulletins/12cab70

I have 4 full tins of these pellets. The seal was removed on one tin, but none were used. I'm asking $25, shipped. If interested, you can message me, or email me at [email protected].

I have a Daisy VL, that, quite frankly, is really nice. The thing that baffles me, is if it's considered a firearm, or not. I've heard that no FFL is needed to sell it (if I wanted to), while on the other hand, I've heard you would need an FFL for it. Anybody have any idea on this?

Will do NFA-ADK.

Thank you for the info, Grampy, and thanks for all the congrats, guys. Interestingly enough, it is free to enter, and not a lot of New Yorkers win, because not a lot enter this contest.
-
Thanks! I never win anything, so I originally thought it was a scam email, until I went to Parker's site, and found my name as the winner. Anyone got any pointers on these?
