Well this warm up is rite on time all the snow will be gone bye Sunday at this rate and maybe I can get some fur again fingers crossed

Fur prices from Genesee valley auction were not very impressive but not a lot of good put up fur a lot of green unfleshed coons rats averaged 8.75-9 coons were bad dont have numbers red fox averaged 45-50 not many in auction though...Mink were down also ... hopefully it was not a forecast of the rest of auctions but stories being told are not much being caught this year in any way and Montezuma they hit too hard last year I've heard ... guess we will see ..

I finally took out the mange problem in my area past two three years I couldn't get a full tail for my life and this year two nice full tails ... hoping my blind sets connect today yotes and foxs are crossing down logs over water and I set up were they gather to step on to it ....snow coming down fast not what I wanted

Gotta slightly bend jaws in were they hook onto frame of trap or frame out a tad cause they bind terribly and that worked so far caught a coon doing so he came back after trap not firing and him cleaning it out but how many mink jumped on the pan in between ..Idk about helpers hopefully this works

Have you heard anything about fur market prices dropping because of Chinese buyers linked to the guy caught bringing in snow leopards pelts and not paying government dues and Chinese government took control of furs they had in storage and they are auctioning them off first wich is a lot of mink and coon pelts 4.5 billion in fur to make back the dues that weren't paid

best day yet this year big bore coon caught in a 1.5 sleepy creek after be eating on it to stop the jaws from binding he was in a pocket set that had been cleaned out and switched trap yesterday and re baited with perch and muskrat ... The red was caught in a 1.5 Victor coilspring dirt hole that's caught 3 chipmunks and was lured with Darin freeburoughs tnt gland food lure ... the lure he gave me cause I bought so many other lures he said it was his best ...

Yea I've had to hammer them some on the nipple were the jaws attach they are binding in there causing burrs ... I've read online now and it says worst trap ever made bye them slow firing people say they call to no response from sleepy creek... I'm calling today because for how much those traps cost they should be working perfect and not need to be beat on to work ...we will see what they say

Once u break the spring down and open the jaws the jaws don't fire even just letting go and if I get pan tension they still don't fire bad thing to find out after the pocket sets are empty and bait taken ... very disappointed in these traps don't recommend

Different auctions and rats take shortest time to finish and average 12$ yotes are tedious and will test your patience catching and skinning and they go bye color one could get 12$ or good color gets upper 30s...All fur has to be uniformly done to sell takes years to get good and lifetime to master

Yea this time it's a dirt hole but this fox I've seen were he's sat next to sets last year he's a big old fox big paws .. drives me nuts seeing snapped traps with belly fur he's gonna catch a lead pill soon if I don't catch him bye Christmas

Now twice in the past two years I've had a fox crawl into my sets last year I could tell in the snow today I found hair in my trap in its bed and it was some gray and red too so again on same property

Skin them flesh them then put on stretcher to dry and then sell

today's catch 2 in feed beds with call lure 1 in the run set I caught the mink in yesterday

I'm in southern zone so my season is just beginning but I've heard similar stories from friends up north .. down here its rats that are coming up short ....

It's all in color and how prime they are I've seen yotes put up go for $19 and some in the $30s... I agree u owe any critter killed to attempt to salvage something outta it but to each their own ...

Nice job hounds I love Grey fox not many around my area but someday I'll get one... Some nice rats too but that coon looks massive next to the gray
