  1. What you don't seem to accept is, there is no escape. No matter how hard you try, the other side is working twice as hard to achieve their goals. They are counting on your fatigue to win. Caring, and really resisting, are too different things. I find it quite simple to enjoy hunting, to the point I live it, breath it and eat it, but that doesn't mean I ever forget, or ignore, the wolf at the door. I guess I'm good at multi-tasking. I'm glad I don't have to worry about people complaining about the posts anymore. Fewer useless people will be looking at them here now. That's good. I never felt they were ever going to wake up and help defend their liberties anyway.
  2. Energy is costing MORE in states with Green Energy mandates. http://www.wsj.com/articles/states-are-unplugging-their-renewable-energy-mandates-1436568792
  3. The more that comes out on it, the less I see to be happy about. The NY GOP seems to be doing a "bait & switch" here designed to gain some credibility they do not deserve.
  4. TODAY IN HISTORY, 211 Years Ago - the big-government lover of the founders - Alexander Hamilton - was shot and killed in a duel. Aaron Burr was charged with murder but never convicted.
  5. California has been discouraging coyote hunting longer than NY has even had huntable populations of them. Given time, with enough discouragement, NY will see the same threat arise.
  6. Well, I'm glad you guys like it. However, I have heard too many tales, from too many hunters with very little hunting skill, about their guided "trophy" big game hunt. Most were American hunts for Bear, Elk, Moose or Deer and the kills were very nice. But when the tale of the hunt is told, I'm seldom impressed with the hunt, the skill of the hunter, or the knowledge of the quarry. Too often the only thing that makes a impact on me, is the price paid for the hunt. BTW, I just have no desire to hunt in Africa, or even Canada. There are too many hunts in America I'd rather enjoy first. I'm not saying people shouldn't do it. I've done it to a limited extent. Guides need to make a living too. It's just not for me. I do not judge, and am not impressed by, a hunter with many stuffed heads on his wall. I judge him on his hunting acumen and the effort needed to attain his goal. If the biggest effort put forth was saving the cash to go on the hunt, I'll be polite and congratulate the man, but that's about all.
  7. We need to stop the flow of illegals. I fine with asking for volunteers to post themselves on the border and shoot anyone trying to sneak in. I'm also good with locking up anyone who gives them aid and comfort in this country, for any reason.
  8. No one will have to submit to background checks for ammo or be prosecuted under the law, but it has still been able to infringe on your rights, and that's not changing anytime soon.
  9. Just an FYI for all who may be interested. I don't care what your personal opinion of the piece is. “Strange how paranoia can link up with reality now and then.” ― Philip K. Dick, A Scanner Darkly "The problem arises when you add Jade Helm to the list of other troubling developments that have taken place over the past 30 years or more: the expansion of the military industrial complex and its influence in Washington DC, the rampant surveillance, the corporate-funded elections and revolving door between lobbyists and elected officials, the militarized police, the loss of our freedoms, the injustice of the courts, the privatized prisons, the school lockdowns, the roadside strip searches, the military drills on domestic soil, the fusion centers and the simultaneous fusing of every branch of law enforcement (federal, state and local), the stockpiling of ammunition by various government agencies, the active shooter drills that are indistinguishable from actual crises, the economy flirting with near collapse, the growing social unrest, the socio-psychological experiments being carried out by government agencies, etc. Suddenly, the overall picture seems that much more sinister. Clearly, there’s a larger agenda at work here, and it’s one the American people had better clue into before it’s too late to do anything about it. Call me paranoid, but I think we’d better take James Madison’s advice and “take alarm at the first experiment on our liberties.” http://blog.tenthamendmentcenter.com/2015/07/jade-helm-fairy-tales-for-a-gullible-nation/
  10. How long before NY has a similar problem? They're not dogs people. http://abcnews.go.com/US/california-town-high-alert-coyotes-attack-children/story?id=32355667&fb_action_ids=10153488346042139&fb_action_types=og.likes
  11. You will not see ammo being shipped into NY State from online, or out of state catalog companies. The law is still the law, albeit not funded at this point. Nothing will change in that regard. The only thing that will happen is, a very big shortage of ammo available to gun owners in NY, and much higher prices to be paid for it at NY gun shops. The SAFE Act is still accomplishing exactly what the anti-gun politicians want it to.
  12. Am I the only one who believes spending a ton of cash to hunt has no impact on your ability to actually hunt? Seems to me you're paying to have someone else do everything for you, right up to the point they show you a game animal and tell you to shoot it. To me, that's not hunting. I'd call it a guided shoot. Is taking a nice game animal all you want to do, or do you want to test your ability as a hunter to do it?
  13. Many folks just go along with blinders on, completely unaware of what's happening around them. When the trap closes, they are surprised to find they were in danger to begin with. Such is the case for NY hunters. They don't pay much attention to threats from politicians, and don't know how to fight the threats, before the exist or after. That is the case with the SAFE Act. That's why they don't want to see any posts that may be of importance to them. They prefer to believe nothing is happening and everything is a conspiracy theory. All I can say is, enjoy your political oppression. It's going to be vast and long lived.
  14. Nope! Political posts are now officially 2nd class posts on this site. Their loss. I'm sure the SAFE Act will never be repealed now, and the hunters in NY deserve it's oppression.
  15. Do new posts in this forum still go to recent posts? LOL!!
  16. Then the site will be active for 4 months until it dies again.
  17. Proves you protest too much.
  18. Seems posts to Political topics are no longer going to the recent topics list anymore. The site has caved to the whiners I guess. Can't help but see the parallel with the current state of Liberal demands for banning things in this country. Cry me a river boys.
  19. Shut down the government and all of it's institutions for a month! We'd sure save a lot of money besides stopping all of the idiotic encroachment it seems to be best at.
  20. My ideal hunt is one where I do it all myself, from start to finish, and succeed. I don't care if it's Whitetail, Bear, Moose or Elk. The important thing for me, is being able to do it on my own, no guide, no other hunter's help and no outside assistance. I want to meet every challenge and obstacle head on, and overcome it. I want to do the research, planning, scouting, equipment acquisition and set up, sighting in and practice, hunting, shooting, tracking, gutting and butchering all alone. It is only when this is done that one can truly say they have mastered a particular hunt. Knowing you have done everything necessary on your own, is the greatest reward in the hunting field. And the satisfaction of knowing you can do it alone, and do it well, is the ideal.
  21. The posts in the General Chit Chat Forum don't relate to hunting any more than the posts in the Politics Forum. Nobody is complaining about that forum though. I think the 4 or 5 people on here who are protesting the most aren't upset with the political posts that support their views, as much as they're upset with the ones that oppose them. It angers them to see posts that factually disprove their committed beliefs and opinions to the point they demand they be stopped. If you're worried about outsiders seeing too many political posts, you better ante up and post more hunting stuff. I come on here looking for good hunting stuff too. Unfortunately, I find very little of it, and what I do find is often mundane, uninspiring or not interesting . Even when a good hunting related post is put up, a lot of guys on here like to jump on it by tearing into to OP and arguing with the post, rather than adding to it, or simply staying out of it. They're often just as vile and argumentative as the political posts are. If new people are going to look at this site and leave, it will also be because the hunting posts are not civil and often don't inspire interest. Now, that may annoy many of you guys, but I think it needed to be said. If you're really worried about the future of this site, some of you need to do some real soul searching.
  22. What Obama Doesn't Want You To Know Wind energy only works at all because of massive tax dollars paid to developers and producers to create it. All of the hype generated about how cheap it is to produce fails to take into account all of the money you and I are paying for the government to give fat subsidies to wind companies. Hence the observation of serial wind energy “investor” Warren Buffett, who says: “We get a tax credit if we build a lot of wind farms. That’s the only reason to build them. They don’t make sense without the tax credit.” People with health problems; a blighted landscape; and millions of dead birds and bats (especially raptors like eagles) – this is the real picture of “green” wind energy that the Obama Administration doesn’t want to speak about. And, of course they won’t mention the hundreds of billions in wasted taxpayer dollars. Once again, liberals, environmentalists, and socialists all thought they knew better than everyone else. And, once again, reality has proven their best intentions wrong. READ ALL ABOUT IT http://www.thefederalistpapers.org/us/study-green-energy-wind-farms-cause-more-harm-than-good
  23. Well, you guys better start putting up more hunting and outdoor posts then, especially during the off season. They way I see it, if not for the political posts, there wouldn't be much else.
  24. Take no interest in politics. It makes it easier for politicians to take their interests from you.
