  1. Seems to me high fence operations could all be banned in a heart beat if PETA ever got enough support to put an end to it as animal abuse. I'm not worried about sick deer, but high fence operators should be worried about that.
  2. I do not think doing away with the political forum would be wise. How would this site keep any of the intelligent members from leaving?
  3. I believe the main reason for stopping the political posts from showing in the recent topics area, was a desire not to appear to be more political than hunting to new viewers and visitors to the site. I can't say I disagree with the logic there, but if the desire is to gain more hunters on the site, the quality of the hunting posts here will create their own problems. Experienced hunters, with a high level of expertise, will not find anything on this site that might enhance the quality of their own hunting, or bring them any educational information they could benefit from. About the only thing a seasoned hunter could find of interest on this site would be news and information about the legal and political happenings that will affect that hunter's personal future. Based on the number of complaints from members here, many on this site have no interest in any of that. Though they claim they do, I think they would all be hard pressed to give any sources they regularly read, that would give them this information.
  4. Here's how the US and Greece are very similar. The details are different, but the problem is the same. https://generationopportunity.org/articles/2015/07/14/the-greek-debt-crisis-is-a-look-into-americas-future-without-reform/
  5. The site owner decided no political posts would EVER show up in recent topics again. Lots of people complained they didn't like it. They are now 2nd class posts on here.
  6. I see nothing in this link that says they will ship it to your door. have you ordered from them and had it delivered to your door?
  7. I've had the pleasure of hosting many NYC youth in the Catskills for awhile. Often when asked what they fear the most about the region, they will answer, "The Dark!" They fear things like bear, coyote, fox, porcupine, snakes, etc., but feel they can run from them or fight them with rocks. The dark is something they have no clue how to deal with. LOL!
  8. You gotta admit singling out "minorities" in this program does have a certain "WTF" objection about it. How about just making it a promotion of nature amongst "urbanites"? All people should be included. Doesn't discrimination work both ways? Isn't preferential treatment a bad thing in all respects? This is not a joke comment either. I still love to hear stories from my BIL about his first excursions into the woods as a child growing up in Brooklyn. He was amazed the first time he saw a stream! Now he loves the outdoors more than many who claim to be outdoorsmen.
  9. So the question from anti hunters is invalid. Perhaps the debate should just end with that statement.
  10. Doesn't the term "invasive" usually refer to something with a negative impact on the habitat? Do Ringneck Pheasant have any negative impact on the habitat? As an aside, I do believe the "put and take" pheasant stocking programs that exist today are not good ambassadors for small game's hunting image. The same can be said for trout stocking programs. They are both popular, but are far from natural and self sustaining.
  11. According to the SAFE Act, ammo can be purchased online, BUT it MUST be shipped to an FFL in NY State where you must go to pick it up. You will not have to go through a NICS check to get it though. That is the only thing that has changed. If you think anyone is going to legally ship ammo directly to your home anywhere in NY State, you are wrong. If you can actually get any online seller to do it for you, post all of the info on this site for all to see. Good Luck!
  12. Complete exaggeration in the name of promoting a failed technology goes unchallenged by the mass media. Where's the peer review? http://newsbusters.org/blogs/joseph-rossell/2015/07/13/guardian-claims-denmarks-one-day-spike-wind-proves-100-renewables-no?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=marketing&utm_campaign=b-wind-renewables
  13. You'll never see this in New York though. Tyranny allows no weapons of defense. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-07-09/making-guns-cool-high-schools-embrace-shooting-as-hot-new-sport
  14. This is why they want all guns banned from schools. Can't have positive perceptions of guns among the youth ya know. http://www.breitbart.com/sports/2015/07/09/attitudes-towards-guns-change-as-high-schools-embrace-shooting-sports/
  15. Another FYI for the clueless among us, that link, which the clueless obviously don't read, comes from The Tenth Amendment Center. Hardly what anyone with intelligence would call a paranoid conspiracy association. The clueless are not too smart, but they think they are. That's what makes them dangerous!
  16. Political misdirection. The NY GOP has failed to repeal the SAFE Act. None of the other things they list as accomplishments were ever law, nor had they any chance of becoming law. They only deserve applause when they totally repeal the SAFE Act, and not one day sooner.
  17. Anyone can find anything if they're interested, jack wad. There have been prior posts on here about this subject, but none with so much detailed information. That's why I said "FYI". People who label issues as paranoid fantasies have no real knowledge of the subject, or they would offer intelligent objections to the information. If I wanted to kill myself, I would climb up your ego and jump down to your IQ level.
  18. I must adhere to anonymity for privacy, safety and security reasons, both for myself and my family. What rights organizations do you belong to?
  19. The investors like Anschutz, are raking in the cash from the government subsidies. They are not the "greenies". They're opportunists. The enviro wackos are the ones pushing the government policies that throw billions at the failed programs.
  20. My entire professional life now revolves around educating people about the threats they want to ignore, or believe are just conspiracy theories. I belong to many organizations that fight unconstitutional government mandates and oppression. I'm on the board of a few of them. The time I spend on here is when I'm in transit and the trip will be more than 1/2 hour. I'm constantly engaged. I'm very concerned about the future of this country, as well as the future my offspring will have to live in. Hunters are a favorite target of those who want to stop hunting and firearms ownership. That's why the SAFE Act affects hunters more than it affects criminals. It has nothing to do with lowering crime. It's not just a NY issue either. Unfortunately I find the level of apathy in NY to be much higher than in many other states. My posts are sometimes designed to gauge the level of interest NY hunters have in the threats that are effecting them. I gain a lot of insight into the mindset of NY hunters by posting what I do and challenging the replies. It's too bad most on here have decided not to be engaged in the never ending battle, preferring to ignore it. Most say they are engaged and get involved in other places, they just don't want to see it here. I don't believe it. I believe they ignore all of it, until it bites them in the rear. Many are not even NRA members. In fact many are quite hostile towards the NRA. There is no hope for folks with that attitude. They don't get it, and probably won't, until they see how far the government wants to go with regard to eliminating their rights. Tragically, at that point it will be too late to escape from the trap. I've decided you just can't help those who refuse to be helped. The hunters in NY have proven to me they are beyond saving. Their leftist indoctrination began in their youth and is so ingrained, it cannot be reasoned with. NY will forever be a blue state with no logic or reason regarding liberty and rights. Look at California and you will see the future NY is headed for. It's sad. Just unbelievably sad.
  21. They ought to consider them "greenies" because of all the cash they are wasting on stupid, inefficient, "eco-conscious", disasters.
  22. Maybe the public's perception on Coyote Hunting Contests will change now.
  23. I predict the political forum will still be the most active forum on this site and the rest will gravitate back to their usual level of posts eventually. Just my opinion. Time will tell.
