10 deer in the bean field tonight. No shots though. All in all a great night. Can’t wait go out next weekend!! -
Super fun encounter with a fork horn. Came in to a light tickling of the rattle bag. Now I just need his big brother to come through! Happy hunting everyone!

2017 HuntingNY Gun Harvest Thread

After a disappointing bow season, and a down right depressing gun season, everything turned around at 3:30 on Sunday. Four doe decided they would come by my stand, filled all of my DMPs in about 90 seconds. Just goes to show, it's not over until it's over! Three of the four were kind enough to go down right near each other. The fourth ran off, but left me a perfect blood trail. Cheers!- 48 replies

After yesterday's success I'm hanging out with the wife in her stand acting as backup.

Be patient boys and girls. It can happen at any moment. One second your sitting there thinking about how your ass hurts. The next second you're trying to figure out which if the 6 bucks running around you want to shoot. I elected for a nice 7 pointer with a 20" spread. Waiting on the wheeler now. Good luck all

Lol. Just dropped my bow out of the stand. Turns out the loan wolf bow holder doesn't work if you kick the bow. What a putz.

Alarm at 3:45 shower to remove scent: 4am Coffee to wake up: 4:15-5:00 Unusually long stop at Timmy Ho's for sandwich: 5:05 Drive to spot: 5:25-6:15 In stand: 6:30 Having someone bumble their way to my spot at 7:30... Priceless. Enjoy the day fellas.

Nothing but tree rats until about 20 minutes ago, then 5 doe come walking through the turnips. Too far out for the bow though :-(

Shot this doe 1 minute after sunrise on friday. She dropped like a bag full of steak, and now that's exactly what she is. Cutting her up tonight. -

Just saw a squirrel fall 25 feet out of a tree and heard the "THUMP". That was entertaining
