which is why i use the fox i feel the deer thinks the fox is very clever and smart and even with the human scent the deer may follow the fox smell due to a fox being so clever and think nothing of me due to this idk just my opinion and it works for me others are intitled to there opinions

i try to collect urine from deer that either i get or a member of our party gets u smell that and smell the store bought and they smell so much differently also try using a doe scent gland i always save one in freezer for start start of season till i get a new one. to me this is more natural to the deer around then the stores garbage and lol to golden leaf my father used the red colored leafs not sure what they were called but they smelled like licorice (not sure of spelling) funny thing is deer walked right up to them

does anyone know if i dont buy a doe tag this year if my points are good next year. reason i ask is so 3 out of the 5 people in my group got doe tags leaves me and gf to still buy and we each have a point. we dont need or even want 5 tags. thanks

idk what type of boots everone uses but i have rubber lacrosse and they stay outside all year long lol they never come in the house only time they move is into a bag and into a bin to go to the the woods.... im very carefull with scents. andd as far as deer scents i try and keep the urine from deer i get which the bottled stuff smells nothing like. and nothing beats a fresh doe scent gland or even a frozen one from the year before

why would the deer run from a fox? the fox is of no danger to it. i have seen them follow my trail with the fox urine maybe its feels safe cause fox is smart maybe its curiosity lol no idea
-
the spraying of boots is to lay down a scent trail of a fox

my experience i hate to say is just plain luck. i do spend alot of time scouting setting up stands and when season starts every second of daylight i have in the woods. but my experience in the 3 biggest bucks i got and the 1 my brother in law got were luck. i think i spent a total of 1 hr all combined on all 3. but i will say if i didnt do my scouting i wouldnt have been in those spots to get them so scouting and have luck on your side

just wondering what other people do i wash my clothes with scent free detergent then ill store them in a bag with pine branches or even some apple peels depending on where i will be hunting. when i go in woods i spray my boots with fox urine and sometimes even a lil on my clothes for extra cover. when i do spray clothes they get washed again within a few days lol due to the smell.

ok just a question if ar's are so great why doesnt dec just make it happen y do they need our support if it is a huge benefit then they would just do it right or wrong? to me sounds like trophy hunter propaganda. but like i said show me info why it is so great
-
and regaurding the ignorant and stupid deer arent they all when the rut hits only one thing on there mind lol
-
ok those 2.5's are great but i know ppl who have been hunting for yrs without seeing a single buck to shoot. i wanna hear why does the deers age make a diff. or give me some info to read pls id like to hear all the info. on antler restrictions and how the age of a deer helps.
-
dont get me wrong im all for any progress made to help the sport but by ur idealogy we are gonna let every young buck make it to breed. i myself feel the strongest fittest and smartest deer breeding makes more sense. wouldnt that spiker that survived a season on its own the smarter and stronger buck and that deers offspring will have hopefully same genetics. just my opinion i maybe right maybe wrong. and another thing what about the first yr hunter who isnt eligible to shoot the spiker we need ppl involved in hunting not discouraged because he sees all spikers and cant shoot one. we r losing ppl why do we wanna lose more.
-
if i shoot yearling buck my season is over if i shoot a monster buck my season is over so it doesnt matter to me my deer is my trophy. so y not leave it to hunters preferance and fyi that spike horn always tastes better then that older buck
-
i guess what im saying is that even that doe or spiker is still a trophy to me im proud of any buck that i get or deer for that fact
-
i hunt in 4g and the new ar's piss me off i hunt for the meat and we dont get alot of big bucks ussually every few yrs get one and that to me is the hunt i dont wanna water down hunting by seeing more bigger bucks takes the value out of all the hard work i put in scouting and setting up cause i know that the nice buck i shot was worked hard at with alot of time and hard work

lol thats what he said after the last miss
-
thanks everyone appreciate it

with windows down he has shot a doe and a bear from it

i know this is kinda off topic but i lost a doe 2 yrs ago because a neighboring land owner would not let me on his land to continue on the blood trail made me sick to my stomach and i pleaded with the guy offered to put bow in truck and even asked if he would escort me to find it to no avail he said the coyotes will eat good
-
a friend of mine has a blind with shoot through windows. what are your opinions on shooting through them cause everytime he has shot through them it has been a miss. btw he uses a 300 win. mag. and i was told by a gun nut that the mess messes with the bullet when it hits it. any opinoins

wow everyones up in arms. ive made a yardage mistake before searched for hours to no avail. it happens to everyone at some point in time. but hes young and will hopefully grow up and learn from his mistakes. me personally when i have lost a wounded deer buck or doe makes me sick to my stomach.
-
just wanna say good luck next year with that buck. me personally i would have shot it i know plenty of guys who have never even shot a buck and if u get the shot whos to say u would get another chance. i had a huge 10 pt a few years ago during bow walk by all he gave me a shot at 40 yds so i waited and after that all he gave me was a questionable shot at 20 yrds so i passed and never seen it again till spring turkey found him 10 yrds from my stand dead all that was left was bones at least i have his skull and antlers would rather of had his meat a shame he went to waste. but im rambling long story short i would take it to me any buck is a trophy to me in fact any deer is a trophy to me thanks
