We are on the same page. Heck i saw what the youth of today is like at basic training for the army. I see people babying their kids so much its sickening. Added to that most have zero respect and think the world owes them something. Nothing instilled in most about hardwork morals or ethics at all. Society? Parenting? Who knows. But i know my son is being brought up like i was. Respect discipline ethics and hardwork are what get you somewhere today. As you said ill raise mine, you raise yours.

Try a google search. Itll find one close to ya! Im sure an island guy may reccomend one...im an upstater so no idea on pro shops. As far as a hoyt...hoyt is a good company. Like stated shoot a few different bows to see what you like
-
Go to a shop and shoot a few. They can get you setup with draw weight and drawlength. Also give you tips on proper form and anchoring etc. Some shops do have a good used bow selection. Mission is a good line of bows but i would also check into martin bows.

Was in the paper here too about one being shot about 2 miles from where live. Few years back

The notorious blue falcon has a very distinct call...sounds something like "screw you, screw you"

Shot the high country four runner tonite....didnt need to change a thing. Kinda nice when your dad and you shoot just about the same. Even walked out to 32 yards...still dead on. So now i can expand my range a little bit. Fast bow, louder than my parker but feels about the same when i shoot it. Good bow! Paired with some victory v6 buck buster arrows...should get the job done!

Awesome job!

Well said. If you dont draw a doe tag... guess you eat tag soup and watch meat walk right by. I think you are in the majority. More deer hunters than trophy hunters. When trophy hunters start paying for my license then they can tell me what i can and cannot shoot

Were you aiming at the head?
-
Didnt ask about the driving age. Merely pointed out that some kids pick things up quicker than others. I know thats how it goes.
-
Yep i do. When he races the go kart we sign a waiver. When hes riding the fourwheeler always safety first. No different than an adult doing it, but i understand what your saying

So the state knows better than most parents? Highly doubtful...at least around here. I agree that not all parents would be fit to make that decision, but the ones i know would be able to. I also know parents who plop their kids in front of a tv and hope they stay there until bedtime. But i do see where your post is aimed at

Good luck getting gas money! I know how it goes...its not fun. Only reason im going to camp this weekend is because we are car pooling down there. Otherwise id be sticking close to home. Im gonna shot the high country tonite and see how it goes. Ive had to use a backup bow before so shouldnt be an issue!

My son is 9 and hes already got many go kart victories under his belt. As well as rides a polaris 500 atv. And has driven lot cars on the property. Is it the same as driving or hunting? No but just goes to show that some kids are ready for things sooner than others. Should be a standard and i believe that standard should be lowered

I agree its interesting. With all the stuff on tv today and video games... watching a deer die is probably far from the worst thing they will see. I watched animals die at a young age and i turned out fine. Then again i think alot of todays youth are sheltered and most need a dose of reality. Because when reality actually hits them, they have no clue what to do. Just my opinion
