  1. Fortunately I had to get rid of all my wordly possessions upon assuming the monk life.
  2. No? Will you comply with NYSAFE, the entire purpose of which -- despite all the propaganda about safety of the populace -- is to disarm those most able to repel an assault by the agents of the state when the States start going bankrupt one by one and civil unrest necessitates force initiation by the States. If you think it's that far off, why has the date for filing tax returns been pushed back, but the date by which to file has remained the same? The teat is running dry, and the ponzi scheme is quickly coming to an end. Tin and lead my friends, those will be the most precious metals in the coming years. It's been a fun ride.
  3. I think you and I both know it will be "arrest everyone, and let the courts settle it."
  4. Beat me to it. I was just coming to start a thread but thought I'd check here first.
  5. I have sent emails to my Assemblyman, my State Senator, My US Representative, and our worthless Federal Senators. Form email replies.
  6. Possession. The weapons themselves become contraband, by the way that is written.
  7. Here's an authentic one, though not from my man T.J. "Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man against his own bosom? Congress shall have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birth-right of an American ... The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the People." — Tench Coxe, 1788.
  8. First, let me express my gratitude for choosing a profession of honorable service. Now, please, if you are ever ordered to confiscate firearms from the citizens of NY, just go sit in the locker room. Refuse. Hold true to your oath to defend the Constitution.
  9. We do not live in a democracy. We were given a Republic wherein the federal government must operate within explicitly enumerated powers. As systems of government, the two are not remotely similar, save for the power of the vote. What exactly do you mean, "...The mindset of the Ruby Ridge Crew..."? You mean people who think that federal storm troopers shooting a woman who's only crime was holding an infant to death should be prosecuted like any citizen who did the same? Please, enlighten me.
  10. lol. Yeah but do you really wanna have to walk half a mile just to find 6 coyotes chomping on your food?
  11. This is true, but that's passive acquisition. It's determining range, but it isn't actually "painting" the target for you. I think the issue with this would be that the weapon is in fact using projected light as an active component of target acquisition. It isn't only rangefinding, but in fact making the shot for you. I'd say they'd consider that well outside the "fair chase" doctrine, no? And again, this is all academic. I'm not good enough to hit anything 700 yards out, and even if I had the money, I wouldn't buy a gun that did it for me. That's just cheating.
  12. Probably uses IR range finding though. Technically speaking, IR is light though it isn't visible to us. So, it would actually not be legal then, so long as it maintained that functionality. Sure, that's a technical loophole, but one a savvy "I hate guns, ban them" politician could seek an expert opinion on. And without the IR, it's targeting system wouldn't work and all of a sudden you spent $20K on a rifle that doesn't shoot itself anymore.
  13. They're NYC squirrels. They're all like, " Ay yo Eagle, you come down here and there's gonna be some s**t, you know what I'm sayin'?"
  14. Kissena Park? Flushing Meadows? Stuck in traffic on Parsons Blvd?
  15. A ranking of political parties 1. steaming pile of fecal matter 2. Libertarian 3. self immolation 4. being repeatedly folded over on yourself until you fit in an ant's pocket 5. falling feet first into an industrial sausage press 6. death by bunga bunga 7. death by 1,000 cuts 8. Republicans 9. castration 10. Democrat upon reexamination, I realized I had rated Republicans too high originally.
  16. Ticket's are available. Beer and ammo in copious quantities are also acceptable currencies.
  17. I rifle hunt deer in my backyard with a three-dot projected laser reminiscent of the predator's target acquisition system.
  18. This is obfuscation of the matter at hand Sogaard. I recognize that the limit in this particular instance was the weapon itself, and I acknowledged it in another post. However, the meat of the matter is that we have persons who are decrying high capacity magazines as "unnecessary" when this one particular instance proves that more ammunition is superior to less in every case. I can link you to several videos of policemen putting rounds into perpetrators that do not drop. Again, ammunition limits are by no means an effective means of stopping crimes, and moreso, put law abiding citizens in defensive positions at a disadvantage. Pointing to the weapon at hand in this case as some sort of proof that 50 round drums aren't going to help and thus are not necessary is petty, and beneath what I usually see as intellectual (if misguided) posts from you. Arbitrarily saying "Hey, 10 rounds is plenty." ignores the fact that in a high pressure situation such as this one, or worse, one with multiple attackers, 10 rounds most likely will in fact not be enough. First, just because someone is shot does not mean they are incapacitated, and second, most people are not combat veterans used to being in firefights. As such, it is almost certain some rounds will miss their mark entirely, or cause only superficial wounding. Why risk innocent lives because evil men do evil things with inanimate objects?
  19. Consider she was constrained inside a crawlspace, using her body to defend her children and still managed to hit her attacker with 5 out of 6 shots Sogaard. I think it's safe to assume she's a passable shot. Myself, I'd have chosen a larger caliber, with a hotter load, delivering more energy. But she did what she did with what she had. What if there had been 2 attackers? Or 5? And if you're going to say they would have run away, why would they do say when they heard the click click click of the hammer falling on empty brass? No. Ammunition limits aren't worth the paper they are printed on in terms of stopping crimes. They only render mothers at home alone with their children helpless when she runs out of bullets.
