Some allow it and some don't. Some allow you to use birds and train dogs, but some don't. Technically you're not supposed to harm a bird in training on state land...even the chukar's you buy. I suggest you come to NAVHDA training days up at Stewart instead, where you can actually have birds shot over your dog.

Caught my personal best striped bass last night on a live eel in the great South Bay. 50 inch fish
The other guy in the pics is a Good Samaritan who climbed down the rocks to grab the fish while I kept tension on the line.
Fish was released safely back into the water
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkTrue trophy! one of the bigger fish swimming around GSB right now for sure!

Hows it going? The throat was the worst for me but only hurt for a couple days
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk ProSore throat was annoying but it only lasted a few days. The coughing isnt too bad most of the time, but its got its annoying moments. All in all, its not too terrible. I feel like im on the back end of it already

Well after over 2 years and working in a hospital with covid all around and more exposures that I can count, I finally got it. Came from my coworker that was coughing last week. I as only with her a short period of time, but it was enough

There's a guy that works with a lot of the NAVHDA guys I train with. If you'd like I can find his name. I think he;s around the new paltz area? There's also Orvis in Dutchess county

I think research shows some larger % of food fish eat is in the lower 1/3 of the water column. I.e. fish don't eat much on the surface overall. So nymphing purists don't like it but indicator and weighted fly is a killer set up and easier to use imo.
I agree, I just need more time on the water with it to develop the feeling

Got out yesterday on the willowemoc and only had one hit. For half the day i tried learning euro nymphing again, but Ive been having a lot of trouble with it. I really need to learn the sensitivity of it. Later in the day I switched to soft hackles and that's what I had my hit on. I was on the phone at the time and wasn't prepared to set the hook, but it was a nice trout. I watched that trout leap into the air about 10 minutes before. Not much rising going on yesterday, but I did see a few fish launch themselves out of the river after what I assume is caddis. Next weekend is looking really good, hopefully i can get on some fish

Its a stupid and dangerous diet. Going full keto can and absolutely will kill you. It will interrupt your citric acid/krebs cycle and make it impossible to go back. Just limit your calories and work out. Make sure youre in a deficit and youll be fine

Spent the last 11 or so days in Clearwater / St Petes. Did a deep sea fishing trip out of John's pass and did well on grey snapper. Also caught a few catfish off the pier in Safety Harbor and Kelly caught a ray about the size of a garbage can lid. No pics of the ray as it broke off at the side of the pier . All in all, it was an excellent trip with beautiful weather every day
Ive been going down to clearwater for the last 15 plus years and have fished every year. I even have a condo down there. Let me know next time you go there, Ill let you know of some good spots to hit. That pier in safety harbor is decent if you know where to throw

I have a Remington V3 for ducks/upland birds, but I use my Mossberg for turkey. That's only because the Mossberg is set up with a truglo red dot. If I was going to get a 20 gauge for both Id want to go with an SX4. Not sure what his budget is, but that seems to be one of the best out there. If he needs to be more budget minded, Id go with a Mossberg 500 or some Mossberg pump.

Never had much luck in big open fields to be honest. I always did much better in woods or a mix of woods, bushy fields and tiny openings to funnel them in

I'm sure the prices wont be so bad by the fall, but if it is ill just have to live with it. I can save in other areas to make up for the difference

Bolts are more economical to make, more reliable and more accurate. A 500 dollar bolt can and probably will be more accurate than a 1500 dollar semi. Most people get one good shot at a deer so a bolt is more than enough.

My only problem with EV's is the range. If i want to go on a 500 mile trip, Id hate to have to wait 30 minutes for it to charge a little. I think our infrastructure for it is a bit weak as well. For right now its a no for me purely due to the convenience of gas. Aside from that I don't mind it

Yes you need a TRP and propagated game license to train like that on state ground. Your best bet is to call the DEC or forest rangers to for specific pieces of land. Generally there isnt any "target shooting" allowed on most of the state land near the city, but you may get away with using poppers and blanks.
