Friends of mine have have had 4 cows killed in the last month. This is 40 miles north of Syracuse along the south eastern part of Lake Ontario. Myself and several others believe it to be a young male bear. One has been seen a few times and several pics of one on a trail cam in the area. Heard every thing from domestic dogs to wolves. I for one do not believe any of it. Not coyotes, they do not tend to pack up and pretty hard for a coyote to take down a cow. These cows are not bit on the flanks like a dog/coyote would. They are bit on the back and neck and the stomach opened. I have a couple pics of the cows but not the best.
Thoughts? By the way, DEC do not seem concerned.
They truly are an extreme predator Grow, but I stick by the trappers plan on this. Anytime they want to take something away from sportsmen, it is a loos for us.
