Yes i can say that on my property and state land i hunt. If i did not care about sex or size could kill everyday.. Very easy within 3 days. If you dont see a deer on property you are hunting for 3 days there are 1 of 2 things wrong. There are no deer or you have no clue on what your doing in the woods.

Really rifle, snow on the ground.does that have anything to do with it. Its a pen remember. You make statements on you have never even done before. When i hunt no fence i still know what size animal i am going to harvest so the fence means nothing. You dont think there are a pile of different size bucks on a fenced in area just as there is in the 2000 non fenced in acres. 1 animal. one on one with a rifle in 2000 acres of fenced property and i am betting you will come out empty handed. My money would be on the deer every time.
-
So tell us your high fence hunts. What animals were you after while you were there? So are you one of the few great whites that can pick out an animal and go harvest that animal on 2000 acres of fenced in property? If so you are a better hunter than most.
-
2000 acres under high fence. You think it would be that easy to see a pic of a buck and go find and kill said buck in 2000 acres? 99% of hunters have no clue how big 2000 acres really is. I can promise you that most hunters could not kill said buck in that 2000 acres, even with a rifle. A Bow? Yeah right, I would like to take bets on that one.

No other hunters to fight with,Much safer, Most places offer a 3 day trip in an awesome ranch with great eats and drinks. Not to even talk about the great animals. Most people that hunt high fence dont own land and have little time to hunt. Most people think big massive bucks when they hear high fence but truth is, most bucks taken are 150-180's They dont spend all their money on cams and food plots and travel costs. They hunt 3 days, Most will kill a buck because thats what they are there for but its not a walk in and your deer is standing there waiting on you. There are bad apples but most get ran out by our own industry, we dont need that crap either. You ask why? Let me ask..Why would someone drop 3-5 grand to an outfitter in say Iowa for a chance to just see a deer that scores the minimum 140 inch buck, let alone get a shot and kill that buck? Choice is what its all about. Different strokes for different folks!

And when you fail to kill a deer that cant get out of a 100 acre pen?
-
I can have hunts on any one of the 6 one acre pens i have. Most of my deer go to other farms as breeders. The only ones that go to high fence ranches are the ones that dont pan out like their breeding says they should. I am thinking about fencing in 100 acres or so and do archery only hunts. One on one. That way i can invite every mouth that says high fence is not hunting over for a few day,s to let them try and kill a buck of their liking. I will show you the pics of bucks to pick from and you go kill that buck. You kill him and he's yours with no charge. Every failure would be made public

Well if you want a bambi buck fawn at 3 months that would be about $1200 Bambi doe fawn $800 for lower end bloodline.
-
Givin the chance...And a free ride...Most everyone on this site would go hunt high fence. Of course they will deny it but if the truth be known....And many have said they would...As long as it was not the beloved bambi. A pig,A fence..No Problem!

There ya go. You just fixed your other post from above. Mule deer as a norm grow a more clean typical rack hence its harder to add up the bone in inches.
-
Well wtf would you like me to tell ya. There are a few on a ranch 40 miles up the road from me They sell some hunts but nothing like Whitetails. Probably 10 to 1 . Why they never turned big in high fence? Maybe because not alot of hunters hunt them or know much about them in many parts or the country? Not pretty enough? Does not grow more than just the same old typical rack every year? Could be a number of things. There is no agenda on this end. Just a strong growing business 15 plus years old and growing stronger than ever.
-
I am not sure why nobody ever pushed the Mule deer. I do have a straw from a 200in mule deer shot in the wild that i am going to cross with a whitetail this fall. Was going to try it this last fall but with only artificial breeding 15 does this year and 15 with bucks i was a tad short on does. This fall i will be breeding about 60 does so i will cross this fall. They are a really nice looking animal speaking of the few i have seen. I watched a show not to long ago where they were killing free range hybrids out west somewhere.

I believe thats where the breaking up of the counties come in. If they have Ar and Obr it will be in high doe populated area,s. There will be no Ar,a Obr and no doe tags in some areas, It will confuse most of us i am sure but they are going to throw something together in the next 5 months so it can go to print. Will be interesting to see if any of the user's of this site end up being one of the 7000 to give their comments.

Just about every hunter i know. Mostly mature bucks. 1 new hunter out of 6 was the only hunter not to take 2 this year. Thats hunting very good, well managed land with good numbers. Granted that is a very small number in the big picture. I would also say that many that kill 2 bucks a year still somehow end up still having their buck tag at the end of the year. I also believe that now that Ny made the new rule that there is no early bow season from Sept 27 thru the 1st of Oct there will be more people using their own buck tag. Cant carry it oves so might as well use it. That was a good move.

I have heard some on here say they would rather spend their money on hunting different animals all across the country rather than buying a single place to hunt all the time. Thats Fine. Then others own great land on different ends of the state. Priorities are job one. If they make the seasons shorter, put in Ar and obr there should be deer running all over every property. Shouldn't There?

Calling for 3-4 feet up here now. Warning on untill like 6pm Sat night. On top of the 3ft plus on the ground now. Good thing its fluffy snow or some animals could suffer. The 100's of turkeys are still in the trees today along the back creek and pines. They come out of the roost, Hit the ground and go in over their heads. They will have a single trail going from creek to standing corn for the rest of winter.

So true. We have rutting action alot during the day in the month of Nov. Many times i have had soldier's stop and ask if they can run out back and shoot the buck that out there chasing a doe around. Pressure has so much to do with deer movement. 750 acres and here are times when only 1 person may be on it for a week. We can go to the tier and hunt with the bow.and come how to the wives saying ..oh i saw this buck in that bean field and so many does in that corn field. Less-Smarter hunting= More Success!

Andy just put a twinkle in many voters eye's. They are saying..That's why i voted for this great man.

Nah the farm income will never change, to many hunters want to shoot those freak nasty bucks but i guess i may be able to laugh all the way to the bank if i release a few 400 inch bloodline does bred to one of my 250 inch bucks and then lease my property out to the highest bidder. Not sure if i can get our land that borders Letchworth's safety zone any better than it is though. I should reap big money off that 125 acres.
