  1. Never gave it a thought. Although predawn with a calm wind. I sound like a "bull in a China shop" I like the fact that it does the same for them. I always liked the calm morning. Being able to here a grunt in the distance then the hissing sound of the chase of a love starved buck. Most don't like the calm but the leaves crunching on those calm morning's also helped me pull off the "Draw" which you know, timing is everything. But if this works for you. Don't stop now.
  2. Had a young buck with one of those that must have been huge, right under his chin a while back. When I first seen it it was a flap of skin hanging down about 6-8" that would swing back and forth as he walked. We nicknamed him Flap. He disappeared two years later.
  3. Similarities in the G3 in the two pics doesn't mean the the same deer. It's in a dominant gene in your area. A rough score for the second pic at most from what I can see is 120 at 4 1/2. To enlighten the others the 1/2 year has been used for thirty years that I have been scoring racks. Before the Outdoor Channel. Never asked why, don't care either.
  4. Depends on how far north you live. As of last week here on long island they started to roam. Scrapes have started and road kill has went way up. The pre rut changes most of the daily routines. Food at this point will be for does. Who will in turn draw bucks when they go into estrus. Keep in mind if you have fed in your yard for a while. They'll be back.
  5. Besides a G2 I only see webbing on left beam. If that's the case. It could fall below 100. If a broken brow even less.
  6. You guys don't think like a thief. If they can't have it nobody can. It'll be secure to the tree but inoperable. Whats guarding the lense from being broken? And how you getting pics through what ever is protecting the lense. I look at cameras as disspencable. I use the cheap moultries and the pics are fine. I test them out next to the house before putting out. If they get stolen. Means to me I haven't outsmarted Joe Hunter, I'm not outsmarting a pope & young or better. You can build fort knox around them and either its broken when you go back or they'll be a stand up close by.
  7. It's a good idea. "Made In America" will be worth more then the Chinese camera inside. Nothing a chainsaw won't take care of. Just covering the variables.
