  1. LOL. Wait..... I think they just added another tag. good luck this year guys!
  2. I just looked this up earlier today. I agree everyone should read the regs and ask a game warden if you have any questions. The way I read the regs: 1. You can harvest one buck in the early archery season and put it in your bow/muzzleloader either sex tag 2. You can also harvest one buck during the regular gun season and put it on your regular season gun season tag Your bow/muzzleloader tag and your regular season gun tag can BOTH be filled with a BUCK in the late Bow/Muzzleloader seasons permitting you have them left. So in this late season you can harvest two bucks. You can also put a doe on your regular season gun tag during this late season. This is just one persons interpretation of the regulations. I am not a game warden. If unsure - ask one. I do not support these regulations but that's the way I read it.
  3. Another for NAP Kill Zones. They stay closed when you need them to, built strong, and proven effective.
  4. I live in Ontario County. Looking within 50 miles (ish) of Canandaigua. Despite urban legend, size doesn't matter as long as it can be pulled by 25 HP utility tractor. Let me know. Thanks boys.
  5. I posted it on NWTF below if anyone is interested http://www.nwtf.org/message_board/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=285405#Post285405
  6. I am pretty sure it is frostbite. Here are a couple more close-up. Look at his left foot. It is split almost all the way to the tendon.
  7. Thought you guys might like to see this. I shot this bird this morning in 8N (Ontario County). His feet are in pretty rough shape. Looks like frostbite. Kind of gives you an idea of what it was like for some critters out in the woods this winter. He is a 3 year old.
  8. You guys rock I probably should have stated that I am not looking to do this as a hunting plot. Rather, just a feeding plot. I am looking to have my food sources centralized with hunting opportunities around that area, which will be around a total of 5 acres of mixed feeding opportunities. That area is surrounded by thick brush and stand locations. I may out in some smaller plots. It sounds like corn probably would not be ideal. Rather, a lot of clover and a couple of select areas within that 5 area (up to one acre) that get planted later with Brass or Rye. Sounds like the clover will get hit almost year round while it lasts and the late season stuff will enhance. Like everyone else - I have decisions to make and I appreciate the help.
  9. Hey Guys. Thanks! You guys mow your clover in late August and broadcast Brass right before a rain? Or do you just deserve a section of the plots and plant nothing until Brass time? Just wondering. Much appreciation.
  10. Greetins Folks Mapping out my land. Was going to put in a 1/2 acre stand of corn. Researching it. A lot of peeps say it is a waste of time for a stand that small. By the time you need it, it is wiped out (rodents, coons, deer, etc...) What is your experience? I am in southern Ontario County and it would be about the only corn around. Thanks!
  11. There are a couple of big does in there. The one on the far right was a female wrestler. One of the bucks looks like Gerald Ford.
  12. This guy is a wise cracker. Look at his/her October 23rd post where he/she talks about his string partially off his cam. Huh? Partially? stoner.....
  13. Don't normally post but had to on this one. I did the same thing a few years ago in Southern Ontario County. Shot a bird with no spurs but full fan and 8" beard and 19 lbs. It looked just like your pics. Just little bumps where they should be and nothing more.
  14. It'll never stop unless you turn him in. It sounds like you own property in the area and your neighbor owns the property thta this guy lives on. Well, does this guy pay taxes on it? Why should he come in and shoot everything when you pay the taxes for the land these deer frequent? But most importantly - what does your neighbor mean when he says, "he will handle it". Just exactly what does that mean? He doesn't tell you about it next time? Why did he tell you in the first place? Apparantly it didn't bother him! I have the same situation going on right now with a buddy in the Southern Tier. On a bordering property to my buddy, a guy shot a 5pt on Saturday and then a nice 8pt yesterday. And then he takes pictures of it and starts sending them to other hunters in the area. Eventually another neighbor sends the pictures to my buddy. My buddy tells the guy who sent the pictures that he is having him arrested and then the guy who sent him the photos started begging him not to because he doesn't want any trouble with the guy (i.e. poacher). As of this morning, my buddy is waiting for the ECO to show up. Despite the fact he may create waves in the neighborhood he is sick of it. They own their land, pay taxes on it, and hunt seriously, legally, and ethically only to have some slob do this and he has done it before. He's had enough and I don't blame him. This goes on way too much and it won't stop until others in the hunting community put a cease to it. And just to show you how much it goes on - look at the people on here who have tried to rationalize it. "Well well well if he put it on his wifes tag thats OK because if she was sitting there then she would have shot it anyway." Yeah, right. Thats like saying if I get caught robbing a bank then you should let me go because if I started a legitimate business I would have been a millionaire anyway. Pul-leez! What a joke.
  15. Greetings feelow New York Hunters I feel everyone needs to be aware of this. This is what happens when a GOVT bails out a private company - they gain ownership stake. McMillan Firearms had a meeting the other day with Bank of America where they were told that they need to find another bank because Bank of America will no longer doe business with McMillan because of political pressure. http://fromthetrench...-business/14090 if you care to then you can go to McMillan's Facebook page to learn more http://www.facebook....upInternational I spent quite a bit of time on this story this morning and I have no reason to believe McMillan is lying. Good Bless! *** UPDATE ***** This is a good interview with McMillan
  16. I too believe in Alsheimer's working religiously and would echo what has been said above about the experience so far. Seen many deer and many bucks but still not the hot time just yet. Does are being harassed - not chased. I have his calendar and this is what he predicts. Seeking Phase: November 11 - November 24 with the peak being the 17th and 18th Chasing Phase: November 17 - November 30 with the peak being November 24th and 25th Tending Phase: November 26 - December 9 with the peak being December 3rd and 4th Next week should be the hot time and the gun hunterss may have a blast this year. There are gonna be a lot of bucks shot seeking and chasing during gun season. I cringe when I say that :'(
  17. I need a few more things for this fall and I will definately put an order in. Nice site!
