The laws need to be changed on feral cats. You can't kill them. They aren't vaccinated. The SPCA here charges if you bring them in. The crazy cat ladies are all infected with toxo - probably a cause of their mental illness. This is the same parasite that is affecting deer. Feral cats - all domestic cats - destroy birds, and the prey base of native predators. People should keep cats they care about indoors where they do no harm and are safe. I have a friend who shoots every cat that comes on his property then lays it in the road so the neighbors will assume it was hit by a car. It makes rodents become attracted to the smell of cat urine.

Wildcat's references to Post 62 in the Federal Employee/Porn thread is based on solid science. I did not post the abstract because it was going to be a struggle for some on this site. Instead I posted the Wikipedia version - which is much easier to understand. The point is, the brain structure of conservatives and liberals is different. The reason isn't clear and may be a chicken and egg question. The same thing is true of homosexuals and heterosexuals. Their brains are physically different. Given that our politics and sexuality may well be due to biological reasons, how about we forgive each other and move on?

4 seasons - You might be in a spot that lacks good habitat. 2 winters back, I had over 50 at the bird feeder daily. The wife and I were wondering how long we could survive on dove in a famine. This winter they moved out. The local climate center called February the coldest winter on record. I have 3 or 4. I would have left if I had wings. I have flushed hundreds at a time from harvested corn fields.
