Budget is <500 Dream would be an auto loader w/ rifled barrel and scope w/ at least 3.5" of eye relief and if adjustable the lowest setting being 4x or lower. I realize I may be hunting a unicorn and happy to look at something near ideal if not ideal. Thank you in advance!

I signed it too. Tired of having sportsmen harassed. -
So do you think NYS will expand the crossbow season

My first field research in ornithology I was 11 years old working for Cornell and then American Museum of Natural History in great go Island I mention my age because it was 1987 peregrine falcons were endangered: you should've heard the disgust the scientists had as they discussed the New York pigeon lovers climbing the Verrazano bridge to crush the first falcon nest in the city in years -
Gun Control-Fake Gun Store
thunnus replied to NFA-ADK's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I hope they all get pinched for: Having handguns unlicensed in NYC, no trigger guards or locks etc. Let gun control they lobby for apply to them as well. If it doesn't then the laws should not apply to us either. -
Pretty incredible that a straightforward question many of us have asked in the field elicited >70 responses. As these texts are anonymous, would any of you mind if I forwarded them on to the author of article I cited in the original post/question?

Respectfully and w/ no personal ill will, that's really not alright. They can and will spread disease and often take juvenile mammals and birds for sport. If you can't stand the company of a house cat, perhaps it's time to find it a new home. I know it's difficult to change ones mindset, but please look at the research. If you love wildlife and respect Mother Nature, please keep that pet outdoors. Perhaps when it drives you batty, put on the snow shoes and enjoy Mother Nature.

Hey guys: thanks for taking part in the debate. I learned a bit. If you haven't read the link that started the debate, I'd urge you to do so. My takeaways are as follows: I'm not alone in probably not being able to take a dog While encouraged by the DEC, don't count on their support if the law men find out Perhaps best to educate neighbors about the risk to local wildlife to let their "house pets" stray. Perhaps a live catch trap (for cats) is smartest then phone to animal control-let them do the dirty work/euthanize

http://www.dec.ny.gov/pubs/81421.html Great but old article on the subject. Cats carry a disease that's transmissible to deer, and absolutely destroy bird populations including but not limited to ground nesting gamebirds. When in my stand, I kept seeing a white footed black cat and have always spared it not knowing if it was someone's. Next feral dog or cat I see I will probably take. What's your opinion? Perhaps better stated would you take one or let it walk?

DBhunterny: I really appreciate the coaching. After reading it and reading it Word for Word I realize that my release may be too light. I have it set to a hair trigger namely as I draw the bow back I put my finger behind it so it doesn't release and then when it's time to release I reach my finger around the trigger to do so

I shoot moving targets w/ my rifle like that.

Thanks guys, any tips or advice will be helpful. Was a weird transition from intuitive to peep sites. I can always improve my accuracy and consistency.

Assuming my arrow shoots flat out to 20 yards, I'm thinking about purchasing a cheap laser pointer and attaching it to the bow to see visually just how steady my aim is and video the variance of my shot. Has anyone else here tried this? I'm not advocating it for hunting just to correct poor shooting habits

Kalik my man, coronas are the beer equivalent of Mexican water

I would just take them to Bimini and make a couple lounge chairs

Were they scandi? The split birch torch fires and accent made me think so. I know I may get crucified for the following sentiment: but would love to see Eurasian Boar in the Catskills (vs feral hogs). I mean who doesn't enjoy catching brown trout. Anyone catch the tiny wired haired daschund or terrier driving the big boar?

Best/least expensive place to shoot skeet near the city is in Ringwood New Jersey. Thunder mountain P.m. me I have a few friends that live in the city and hunt
-
I thank you should be asking about ranges first (to practice and be lethal) than places to hunt. Shoot well at the range and you'll be surprised how helpful people will be.

Most large mammals-ok all-go through a rearing phase after weaned. Humans, elephants, apes, dolphins, whales, wolves and yes even deer. Once we are done breastfeeding we aren't able to go out and fend for ourselves. Same is true of deer, will try to dig up some of the scientific literature.

Hey guys let's go easy on curmudgeon: his ideas may not be orthodox and almost unpalatable but they are certainly difficult to dispute. We have had a pair of very large yotes, stalk a neighbor - but he won't admit it- and make a run at me, early bow season in the dark before dawn. The alpha barely flinched, the beta button hooked
