I find it wierd since they were introducing new models last year. Now stopping production. Seems fishy.

Read it in a few places Nikon is goin to stop producing rifle scopes. They will continue to produce binos and spotting scopes. Should be able to find some good deals out there.

I started with some lone female howls. Then waited about 15 mins. Then did some long female howls, thats when they lit up across the street.

Had my son out behind the house tonight for a early sit. Figure i have a fresh gut pile out there from my buck yesterday. No takers but across the street they started to sound off...may head over there when the wife gets home.

Neighbor shot right around 7 this morning. About 730 he calls to tell me he knocked down what he thinks is a doe. He tells me that theres a good buck running does inbetween us. About 745, i catch movement coming outta some brush to my left, a doe followed by a good buck. I watch the buck mount the doe...wait tills hes done and hes off her. Take my shot and they dont move, quickly shoot again. It didnt feel like a great shot. Got down 20 mins later to check for blood. Not lookin great, then neighbor calls, he saw him walking slowly away head down. I decided to back out. Started tracking him at 1015. 2.5 hrs after i shot him. Steady but small blood trail through the woods leading into thick brush about 200 yards from the shot. Me and my son were sneaking through there when a deer got up and ran. Its so thick i couldnt tell what it was. We walked up to a bloody bed and i felt horrible. This deers still goin now, crap. We turned and took about 3 steps in the direction of blood, and 20 yards ahead is my buck bedded again. I crept up unsure if he was alive or dead, i was maybe 5 yards away when he started to get up! Bang! He lunged forward, Bang! Hes down for good. My neighbor was a great help, left his stand and got his 4 wheeler and drove us back to my field. Happy it ended with me getting him, intial shot was low stomach.

Shot a buck, not thrilled with blood. Backed out going back in around 10. Could use some positive juju this way.

Neighbor shot twice, little spike came out by me. Waiting to hear from the neighbor. Hopefully whatever was shot is dead after yesterdays hail of gunfire and all deer lived.

Late night for me...slowly getting ready now. Ill wait till first light and hunt my way to my stand i think. Goodluck everyone

My dad shot and missed a 8, neighbors uncle hit 2 deer. We tracked but one was barely bleeding to start and stopped bleeding within 50 yards of the shot. 2nd deer i tracked for 200 yards, pretty sure it was a leg/brisket hit. Lots of shooting this evening but no deer to show for it. Off to dinner and drinks with friends and hopefully back at it in the morning...depending on how many drinks. Congrats to all that got some today!

Neighbors uncle just unloaded, loaded and unloaded again on a doe with a buck chasing. Does down, buck believed to be untouched.

Walking in a 115, spotted a small buck only 50 yards away. Watched him in the scope for a bit then continued on my way. My brother and son are sittin in the shootin shack watching over the soybeans. My dads about 70 yards off the field, and 60 yards from a bedding area. Im in my swamp stand hoping a big guy comes by. Goodluck everyone.

Thats like saying a 308 is the same as a 300 win mag because both shoot 30 cal bullets. I was just stating he was shooting a differant caliber then you may have thought.
