Thank you but as much as I loved my daschund I dont think I would get another one right now. Mine was extremely lovable but terribly stubborn and I dont have the time to devote to that kind of training. Great hunting dog by the way. I will be looking for a English Springer Spaniel soon so if you know anybody that breeds them I would love to know.

The first one is my current small game hunter. A bit unconventional but he caught on and he loves it. 1/2 pit bull 1/2 boxer and is the best dog I ever owned. The second is my wifes pain in the but. And the third and fourth was my first hunting dog. He got a little fat and lazy. We had to put him to sleep when he was 15.

As long as they become citizens.

Ironically they do not get a pay increase and their forces have been reduced however our hunting fees keep going up every year!!

My hunting buddies were laughing there asses off when I came in that night and told them the story. The damn goat followed me half way down to my treestand. Luckily the area I was hunting was gated off so I was able to lock him out otherwise goat would have been on the menu that night.

I actually sprayed some Buck Bomb on my shoes and I had a male goat chase me for about a mile. If I'm lying I'm dying!

Well that is my point. The hunter did take the bear legally which I have no problem with however if he was aware that this bear was human conditioned then that would not really make it a challenge or a fair hunt in my opinion. This bear was turned into a "wild" pet. I know the area that this bear was killed and it would be hard to believe that in this small area someone didnt know the story behind this 17 year old 800lb+ bear. Food plots for deer in my opinion are not the same thing as baiting simply because it is not guaranteed to bring in a deer. It is simply a supplement and deer over a food plot are completely different in nature than a bear over a bait pile. Once again just my opinion and no hard feelings to any of those who hunt bears over bait.

I am curious to know everybody's opinion on whether or not they would kill an animal that has been conditioned by other humans. Obviously we dont know whether or not this hunter knew that this bear was human fed and conditioned but what if he did know? Would you still harvest the animal?

I hunt 4A on the border of Montgomery county and Schoharie. I hunted Saturday and Sunday of the gun opener and then came back and hunted Thanksgiving to Sunday and heard a total of maybe 10-15 shots total. I saw 2 does on opening day and took one of them. After that I did not see one deer. In my area I will usually see at a minimum of 2-4 does a day but this year it was like all the deer left the region. While out on a still hunt I found a orange wool hat and it did not belong to any one that hunts with me. Came to find out after speaking to one of my neighbors yesterday before going home that a lot of night poaching has been occurring before the season opened and there has been a lot of trespassing hunters coming on my land and his. I am so disgusted I dont know what to do. I dont live there so I cant catch them. It is making me not to even bother going up for the rest of the season. I am afraid they might have put a real dent in the herd. Also this same neighbor shot a 4 pointer on opening day and went to skin it and found the whole front leg and shoulder rotten and infected because someone shot it with bird shot. He called the DEC and they came and took it and gave him another tag. Then 2 days later he went back to that same spot to hunt again and found a gorgeous 130-140 class 8 pointer dead 10 ft from his tree stand and it was gut shot. Now who in their right mind shoots a deer of that caliber and doesnt try tracking it. My guess is the deer was shot at night hence the bad shot then they couldnt find it or bother asking for permission to go look for it because they know they shot it illegally. >

I wish I had corn around me but no such luck. I have big open fields, some big hard woods and pines that I still hunt. My honey hole is a thick brush field that I have a ladder stand set up in on one of the few trees that are in there however on a windy day it is not smart to go in because I am all open and exposed.

I personally do not like to sit 16ft up in a tree swaying backing and forth hoping that I dont end up hanging from my harness. Not to mention in my experience I have not seen much activity on extremely windy days so I like to put on a stalk. I can normally stalk and have the noise from the wind cover up my foot steps not to mention I find alot of deer bunkered down during those windy days.
