Hope they are, maybe all the threats about breaking the law they'll change it so you won't have to. The 1st Amendment has you covered at least that's what we think.

The link i posted was the for 2013 and 2015 seasons i was explaining that in 2013 the license year was October 1 through September 31 and you were required to have last years license to hunt prior to October 1 but since they changed the license year to Septeber 1 through August 31 in 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 seasons you need current license to hunt early bow because bow season opens after license year has gone into effect. I am explaining this to whoever thinks they can still use last years license for this year.

If you look at this its stated that "Last year's license is required when hunting prior to October 1" in the top left corner of the image. http://www.ilsnow.com/videoblog/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/deer13.jpg Then if you look at 2015 seasons it doesn't say "Last year's license is required when hunting prior to October 1" http://www.dec.ny.gov/images/wildlife_images/deer2015.jpg Just because it wasn't announced that it isn't legal to use last years license you should assume that it isn't legal.

Its plain and simple and only common sense if the hunting license year is valid Sep 1st through Aug 31st then the recent tags are voided, it was only legal because the loop hole in recent years license year was Oct 1st to Sep 31st and Early Bow opened before Sep 31st but now that license year starts Sep 1st and Bow opens after Sep 1st you cant use old tags from past year.

I only hunt with a shotgun and would be fine with with antlerless only, though i prefer that everyone gets to choose what deer they would like to kill sense we bought the license, hopefully they rotate the antlerless only in different regions and seasons or get rid of it all together, maybe put a buck tag draw like the DMPs and make the doe the primary tag, i also thought that maybe you could buy 3 standard tags (buck and 2 dmps) and they would be for all seasons (Bow early/late, ML/Crossbow early/late and Regular Gun season) So say if you take a buck in Bow season you can't kill one in MZ or Regular season same for the dmps pertaining to the Management Unit, or say if you were unsuccessful in bow the 3 tags would roll over to your next season ML early/late, Regular, Bow early/late depending on what license you have or mutiple, if you're successful in ML that tag you filled is discarded for regular and if you're unsuccessful it rolls over to the next season and so on, this would limit hunters to only 3 tags. Hope i explained it well for you to understand

DEC probably makes the stores sell them so they can fine hunters that don't follow the law, stores wouldn't sell them other wise cause of the law and not may hunters would buy the product.

It would indeed help limit the take of young bucks with 3 points and less, they are the future of repopulation, not that I'm saying I'm in support of AR but its a lot better than the antlerless only. I have not seen a 6 pointer or more in the last 3 years and I've taken 2 fawn bucks (without spots) and 1 young buck with 4 small points in the last 3 years, now if I was limited to only take a buck with at least 3 points on one antler maybe the young bucks I killed would be big boys today but I'll never know, yes it would suck to be unsuccessful but it would help future population at least in my opinion idk, what are your thoughts?

I've thought about using one but kind of skeptical maybe one in a field, I was thinking about using turkey decoys though, I've had a few deer in spring come and eat next to them but haven't felt like carrying them in and out cause I only hunt on public land and don't want DEC thinking I'm trying to hunt Turkey, but I've never used decoys for deer hunting and I've been successful.

Why didn't they make it in All Seasons an antlered buck with 3 or more points at least 1 inch long instead of the Antlerless only and increase available DMP in the areas with antlerless only. But even then you can't tell much difference between a fawn Buck and a Doe and more fawn bucks will be taken with the DMPs.

Thanks this helps a lot I'll have to call to confirm, might of found my new hunting spot.

The only thing that NYS cares about in that whole press release is getting more money for their budget.

I think that the Bow Season tags should be either sex but if you get a bow license you can't get a buck tag for gun season and allow the either sex bow tag to roll over into gun season if you werent successful in bow season

Anyone tried to get a DMP for Oswego County (7A)? I know the license just went on sale and its still early but did you receive one or get declined? going to get mine next week and don't know what WMU DMP to apply for.

I've been searching on some aerial maps looking for a good area and came across a spot so I looked it up on the County Tax website and says its owned by the County as reforestation, has anyone had any experience on hunting county property is it public or private?

Don't know if this is the right place to put this, but I've been in search to find a spot to hunt in Oswego NY specifically in the Granby or Hannibal area but anywhere is fine, I know there are a few Wma/Dec land but most of them are over hunted or just swamp land. Any insight would be awesome, Thanks
