    Sat for a hour or so and got bored. So did what I enjoy the most. Walked around and followed some tracks in the snow. Got about 40 yards from a 6 point but no shot (with my bow). Reset on another pair of tracks and came across another 6 pt and a doe bedded down. But spooked them trying to get close enough. Overall was a lot of fun and learn more every time I do that. Would have had one with a gun, but not allowed on this property. Had to leave and head to work. Tomorrow will be spending the day on state land and should have better opportunities with my 7mm-08!

    Sat for a couple hours this morning in 8F. Had a doe come in behind me at 20 yards, but couldn't get an open lane on it. Five minutes later a nice 6 point came in following her... five minutes after that a 4 pt was on the same trail. Couldn't get a shot at any. About an hour later the caravan came through 30 yards in front of me. The 6pt was 10 yards in back of the doe. Let her walk through and took a shot at him. But I hit a branch and it shattered my arrow into 3 pieces. All deer bolted... end of hunt. It was good to see some action though!

    I can't get out today... probably not till Friday. So someone shoot a deer... keep us entertained in front of our computers

    curious to see what results you see while there... I did the same thing midday yesterday and didn't see any deer.

    It is Hunting Calendar LT... looks like midday next week is going to be pretty good! OP is probably shooting a deer right now, so I responded (sitting on my coach with my laptop... wishing I was hunting)

    I don't see any problem with this, as long as it isn't real warm out. But, better yet, go pick her up (or have someone bring her) and let her help you track it. Did this with my daughter and she had a blast.

    I have always wondered about the light thing. Some people suggest using red or green lights so that you can see (and the deer can't). But this makes no sense to me. If there are deer there, they will see you if you have no light, red light, green light or white light. Am I missing something here?
