  9. Not out this morning. Taking care of some honey do. Boys are out. I was watching two deer feeding on acorns 25 yards from house. Both doe, last night my son saw a nice 8 pawing a scrape needed him to take a few more steps. He’s back in that stand now. Looks and feels like a winner of a day. Good luck [emoji256] to all. 10. I have the Ruger 44 magnum as well. Shot a couple of deer with it. Love the guns and good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I’m in 4-0 plenty of acorns. Find the food and you’ll find most animals. Deer are eating what’s available to them. Find that and you will see more deer. Good luck [emoji1360] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Gun hunters are the backbone of deer hunting. They’re are an effective management tool. The alternative to that would not be pretty or good for sportsmen and women.I’m not one for regulating a large state with many different deer densities based on emotion or guys that you know. My area changed over to the 3 on a side rule antler rule probably 10 years or so . That for sure has changed the hunting in my area for the better. Larger bucks making it through a couple years and a more pronounced rut. Shooting more nice bucks in my area now then ever before. (That I’ve been hunt for 43 years.) I like a long season as I love to hunt and pass on many many deer. I hunt compound , recurve , x bow and rifle . I’m not advocating the state go to antler restrictions. But I’m a believer. My two cents. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Out this am 57 degrees breezy . Good luck to all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Afternoon sit was uneventful until around 6:00 saw two deer running all over the woods. One of which I saw was a medium size doe, the other was periodically chasing her with the craned out neck typical of an interested buck. He was big bodied and much darker colored than the doe, but I couldn’t make out his rack every time they stopped he was covered by foliage. This went on for about 5 minutes. Pretty cool to see. Heading there tomorrow first light. My son saw a lone doe layup shot. He passed . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Breezy and 55 ,sit out for a bit. Already had a spike at 26 yards. Son kicked up 5 does on way in to his spot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Went out this afternoon after cutting up turkey. Saw two does and a basket 6. No shot buck stayed right behind doe the whole time. Seemed like he was interested in her, not sure seems too early. Rain came in around 4 pm , so I headed in shortly after. My son saw zip. Forecast tomorrow no too promising.
  17. Was able to shoot a Tom today at 0900. Also had a button buck walk by at @ 10 yards. Filled my fall turkey tag . Son saw a yote this morning, no opportunity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. My nephew shot a nice size doe this morning. Double lung and a little track job. One in the freezer. He’s happy second archery kill. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I honor the animal with a shot of Jamo, one for me and one for the animal. Oh and of course I eat the animal but I prefer cooked .My father would kick my ass if I left the liver behind. He loves it fried with bacon and onions. I could take it or leave it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I won’t be out until next weekend. But I’ll relay my sons early sit. Three large toms walked within 10 yards of his tree, never saw him. Probably the ones I heard gobbling almost every morning behind my house. Of course when fall season opens that won’t happen. Lol Good luck to all who are out today. Especially our youth hunters. 21. Nice monster buck! Congrats! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. My son had two does hang around him for awhile. Practiced drawing on the big one at 19 yards. At least he had some action. Very few bucks sighted so far on our properties. But they’re there just hiding. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Morning sit was a bust except for a mama and baby barred owl. Windy and was cold up that tree. Son was on other side of property also nada. Came in for breakfast and a good size button buck was 20 feet from my kitchen window. He had large buttons(largest I’ve ever seen) and still velvet. Son is out for afternoon in my spot. I’m taking a pass Good luck. [emoji256] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
