  1. Is most of the abrasion to the antlers taken by the tips of the antlers, with less abrasion as you get closer to the skull?
  2. Yeah, no way to get around that. One of our neighbors got his wife to take the bowhunter certification class just so he can take two.
  3. Home made sauce is definitely a great spot to start from. The over the counter stuff is usually way to over-spiced for me. The venison adds a great robust flavor to the sauce... I just do a little sauteed onion in the pot, add the sauce, salt basil and the meat. Let it come to a boil then simmer for about two hours.
  4. I agree with what everyone else is saying........ it might be time for a tune up. I would definitely go with a new string for starters.
  5. As to the original question...... That seems like a great idea. So many hunters pass up does all the time in hopes of taking anything with antlers. In my case, my uncles who own the property tat my buddy and i hunt on don't allow us to take does at all. We try to make them understand the necessity to take a few doe here and there for the good of the herd, but they wont budge. > A change in the law might be the only thing that would make the more old fashioned minds understand the concept of management.
  6. In my hunting group, we sometimes have a hard time passing up spikes. Especially in bow season. I still haven't taken my first bow buck, and on top of that the guys who the property dont let us take does. That makes it even harder to watch them walk by.
  7. that's probably from running through low brush and barbed wire fences
