  1. Definitely beats my first bow buck............ Non-existent
  2. Really awesome story to read. Even though you didn't take the trophy home, you gave those guys an even better one to tell.
  3. there should be a timing interval option on the camera, try setting it to 15 minutes. YOu also want to make sure there isn't anything blowing in the wind in front of your camera.
  4. Does anyone else feel like the deer know a lot of hunters go in for lunch? That seems like the time that i see most of the action on our property.
  5. HIs neck is huge too..... hope you get a chance to tell us the weight
  6. 4w just started to pick up, but they still aren't chasing yet. Probably this week
  7. just about any short fruit bearing plant should work
  8. That is freaking insane, ive never seen anything like that before. Talk about a battle wound.
  9. Same property for the past 9 years, i moved into a spot with some heavier brush. Hopefully something big will pop out.
  10. Where is "here". Im in 4w and they aren't chasing yet.
  11. Try out the VS1 by border crossing scents. Also the herd in a stick as a cover, works great.
  12. I don't know about a 15 to 1 ratio, but i hunt in 4w and i had 8 doe around my stand while two other hunters on the property saw 4 other doe and two button bucks. We only have two pictures of other bucks on the property this year and thats with 5 game cameras across 245 acres. Hopefully ther are more bucks out there but we've only seen 4 major scrape sites so far.
  13. My buddy and i hunt in 4w, we just started seeing scrapes this past weekend. The doe still seem to be traveling together though.
  14. My first time out was 9 years ago. I was 14 and i wish i could forget costing my uncle a beautiful 10 pointer. It was too dark to take the shot when he came snorting in... i could only see his profile in front of the moonlight and he was huge. I forgot to clear out the twigs under the tree before i sat down....... I shifted my weight and snap... Goodbye Buck. I fealt like crap and still get made fun of every year. But thats how you learn.
  15. NO blood trail and a dry arrow normally constitutes a miss. The deer may have ducked down on em also. The only advice i could give would be to ask other hunters in the area if they've seen or harvested a deer with the damage you described previously.
  16. But even a climber could and just about always does cause some damage to the the tree.
  17. He looks great, nice job. HE does seem a little on the young side but still beautiful.
  18. What do you think the best approach would be for my me and my buddy to take. We are the only two in guys hunting on the property who are under 45 years old and not off the boat from italy. The four owners are hard headed like you wouldn't believe..... what should i do?
  19. Long johns and any other type of thermal spandex is also a good way to go. Make sure you use unscented detergent.
  20. Real nice body on that 5..... you gunna give em another year?
  21. Sometimes it pays to sleep in i guess. I'd get the climber ready if i were you.
  22. He looks real good.. what section are you hunting out of?
  23. Well only one way to find out. Hope i have good news in two weeks.
