Black Color Phase Squirrels

I got this black squirrel about 5 years ago. I had it mounted because I thought they were rare. I found out that some areas are abundant with them. I also saw a true albino squirrel when I was spring turkey hunting. It sat about 10’ from me trying to figure out what I was. I returned on September 1st hoping to shoot it but never saw it again. They fall prey to raptors because they stand out like a sore thumb in the green spring foliage. Not to mention the foxes , coyotes and bobcats. -
Sawyers permethrin works great for keeping ticks off you. However , it claims to be odorless after drying. I don’t believe it because I can smell it , and if I can smell it so can the deer.

This is only the third photos of bears I've gotten on my trail camera's. I'm guessing that their two different bears. Thanks in advance.

I trapped this tom in 2021. It took a while for the taxidermist to get the pelt back.

It's been a slow turkey season for me this year. I passed on a jake , got out flanked by another hunter on a turkey I was working for 2 hours. Not hearing much gobbling either. Last night around 7 pm , I just happened to look out my kitchen window when I saw these love birds. It was pretty cool. Good luck to those who are still trying to fill a tag like me.

To the best of my knowledge , otters are not a protected species. You would have to wait until trapping season opens to deal with it. Most likely there will be more than one by then. My suggestion other than the obvious , is to contact the DEC about a nuisance permit. Good luck.
