I think they will average higher than that this winter…. at least I hope so. Years ago I was averaging $11.00 for a rat. One of these days I’m going to get a bucket of 110’s and set up the marshes along the Hudson River. There use to be a lot of black rats in those marshes back in the day. I’d like to mount a black one to complete the Grand Slam of muskrats. LOL.
Being that the DEC likes to be notified of sick or injured wildlife , I decided to email them a photo of this doe and see what they had to say. This is their response from this morning.
I believe it was a state forest in Minnesota. The face , paws and ear tufts say lynx but the coloration and the white under the tail looks like a bobcat. Also the bands on top of the tail look like a bobcat.
