Got to do a soil test. Most important with weed control being next.
Lack of rain is really hampering everything. I put in about 2 acres of brassicas on 8/1. Saw a bit of rain after planting but then nothing since Labor Day. Not a great year like other guys have said.
Yeah I eliminated all the weeds with 41% glyphosate

I lost all of my plots. Guessing no rain and didn't do a soil test. My fault 1st year doing plots so I'm learning. They started out looking good but now its gone

@SportsmanNH yup all the creature comforts ha. My son owns his own construction company and told me he was going to do some siding and windows I got home to find insulation Wiring. I think he knows it’s going to be his one day so I really can’t complain I think it would be nice to have heat and electric at some point considering I said up there in a ground blind for 5 years before we put the building up. I told my son after I saw this that we might as well finish the bottom at some point with some beds and kitchen area. Stay in the bottom hunt in the top won’t have to leave for the whole season we can FaceTime with the wives if they like but they’re not allowed out there.
I'm guessing its going to be solar powered, or you don't care about the generator noise? Awesome stand though

I started having my brassicas growing good 2 weeks ago maybe 2 inches tall. Planted August 1. Go check it today and nothing is there. Idk if they got ate because just down the trail they are still there with not much new growth. Frustrating.

Any seeing their hunting license and tags in the app yet? I'm not.
I've had a few show up but not all of them

I received it to. But I already have that tag printed off when I purchased my tags at the town office. Do I have 3 tags now?

Do you get anything for sending them in?

Them are the calibers I use. I have only shot ny deer. Both work great. No tracking. Do what I did and buy both. Then you'll never wish you got the other caliber lol

Auto correct got.me , hog radish. If your buckwheat didnt grow than th seed was picked up by game.. it will grow on concrete with water. You may need to spray broadcast seed and roll to put weed cover down over it to protect from.bird, and other animals.
Thanks for the help

Want to see a video on food plotting before it was a thing.. search tricking whitetail bucks by whitetail visions.. amazing what they did with hand rake and a walk behind tiller , along with lot of other great tips. As for breaking up the hard road try buckwheat and high radish.. then in spring can usually get it to. Break up as roots of both go pretty deep , when they rot its natural aeration
I tried buckwheat in 1 section and nothing grew lol whats high radish, a tiller radish?

Throw and grow works well , can do a lot with a 2 or 3 gallon sprayer , and a metal rake. Unless your looking to make destination feed fields 2 plus acres..
Yeah I got a 15 gallon sprayer for the atv. Unfortunately I'm planting on old logging roads and I tried a set of disc on it and can't break the soil. So I'm stuck with a rake

I finally have my brassica germinating. I used a trail mix that hasn't done anything. Going to rake it tomorrow and spread some winter rye mix. First year doing this getting it figured out. Unfortunately we can't get equipment on the property so everything is a throw and grow

I would go with a fixed blade. I've had trouble with expandables getting deployed once they are shot. I've heard good things about slick tricks. That's what I'm switching to this year

Driving around last night went past a field with 3 hens and at least 30-40 poults. I've never seen a field with so many turkey in it. Cattaraugus County
